pop Coffite yey…
Thanks to everyone’s interest, our game data has been saved and they are discussing giving us some necessary compensation
I will always find it funny that American companies jump through hoops to have their I.P stolen by Chinese companies
You don’t have to jump through any hoops to have your products ripped off. Even small business owners in niche areas, and heck, even just one man operations selling frog mugs on Etsy get their designs ripped off. It’s awful how prevelent that is these days.
But either way, I’m happy for the Chinese players to get their game and characters back.
they did. they got the game back wth
This is part of my evil plan to get WoW back up to 12+ million players and dunk on Runescape players
Hey I just wanna chop trees in peace!
There can be no peace as long as there is Runescape. WoW > Runescape
And tiktok can keep operating in the us if they follow us legal regulations like everyone else.
Nope, it was Bobby Kotick. Netease effectively confirmed it (without mentioning names) by saying that one ‘jerk’ was responsible for the breakdown in relationships and that said jerk kept playing hardball during negotiations.
I hope Blizzard does give returning Chinese players something special- not necessarily as some kind of apology, just a ‘welcome back’ gift. Actually, they could make a bit of an event of it and do something all across WOW to celebrate the occasion.
I’d love to see the Auspicious Arborwrym get a toggle for cherry blossoms on a white scaled dragon! Or this : https://pixabay.com/illustrations/japanese-dragon-chinese-dragon-8327787/
Agreed. I realize they probably need the money but I’m not so sure it’s worth the headache.
Then again, they did get bought by MS so I’m not so sure there’s much of a difference anymore.
Of course netease would say they weren’t at fault, but why say anything. Negotiations don’t mean that parties will reach an amicable agreement, it’s simply that you agree to try. Incredibly unprofessional if they did regardless of the reason.
I have no issue with blizzard walking away from a deal that they felt wasn’t in their best interest. The game is designed for profit first and foremost - as almost all games are. Why should they give someone else the financial gain of their product. Even if it was something like a 70-30 split and the assets are already there.
Gaming is heavily regulated in China. If you go to that market you make a splash, you don’t dip your toe. Otherwise why bother?
