This may be the dumbest question of all. Since World of Warcraft Classic comes out soon can I use my original World Of Warcraft 5 Disc for Classic?
Nope. The client will be available from the launcher as a download. The difference from the old Vanilla CD version and now is quite vast.
5 disc? there was only 4… unless you got some kind of collectors edition with a bonus soundtrack or something…
Yeah, I still have mine. 4 CDs.
no. It isn’t the same game, despite being the same game.
It was originally 4, but later pressings had some of the patches preinstalled, bringing it up to 5.
I’m sure you can install from the discs, and it will just update you to the launcher anyway. So… Two birds?
The engine used to run Classic is different from the engine used to run Vanilla.
It’s not gonna work.
I have bought or built a computer in many years that had an optical drive in it.
Who even has a cd-rom reader nowadays???
I do ! My PC is 8? years old I think, to be more specific its a dvd writable, I still have a ton of games on DVD/CD.
Actually you’ll get an error and will be asked to re-install from the website
The client for Classic is built on the legion client. So the old client (from the CDs) no longer works. It can’t even patch up to date anymore. You’ll have to digital download.
CDs still exist?
There’s a few out there! Like 5-6 at Walmart… almost no new PC or Laptop has a cd drive anymore though, unless you specifically elect to have one as an option, or install one yourself.
really? I didn’t even know that, I learned something new :3
I got the 4 cd one with the night elf on the cover, I knew there was an orc one too but I thought they all came with the same discs.
Up until recently, I had a floppy installed too…
nope, what it would do is update it to retail, not classic.
