If you would be given the opportunity of participating in the creation of World of Warcraft 2
What would be your recommendations? What do you think would be the most important factors?
Not doing it and just stick with WoW. If you don’t like current wow, literally play anything else.
WoW 2 was Burning Crusade. They’d have to come up with a better name than that.
Eastern Kingdoms as it holds the most nostalgia and races.
I would manage the developers, because that’s my job IRL.
I would stop them from implementing anti-patterns.
More of the same. Oh and Classic BFA.
Definitely make it playable on pc as well as consoles. Cross compatible.
The same game remade under an engine that’ll help clean-up the code, add new graphical capability, add more gameplay features, be optimized for current hardware, etc. Of course, still be able to carry over player data.
Not do to it what they did to Overwatch when Overwatch got a sequel that’s literally just the same game but with more micro transactions. That or just not do a WoW2 and do better with WoW in general. That or not do WoW2 and revive Heroes of the Storm or make a WoW version of Starcraft instead
wth I just came on to make this post then you did right before me lol.
Action combat and no cash shop on all platforms & no addons
Ain’t no way I’m writing that GDD (game design doc) alone
The kind of stuff I’d want to be different vs now is the kind of stuff that can be done without resorting to a full blown sequel.
I would absolutely ravage the structure of M+.
ending the story of WoW 1, and giving us a new starting point.
personally, i would’ve ended WoW after the tomb of sargeras. would’ve had the plot ended with us leaving our artifact weapons behind as we go to argus to fight the demons.
then, a new adventurer finds our decayed, worn artifact weapons, and would go on a journey to bring them back to their former glory, while dealing with the various threats on azeroth.
Less focus on instanced content.
Don’t and continue with World of Warcraft.
Being able to level up and do pet battles on my phone would be so cool
A world of war-craft.
(please don’t steal my idea)
Don’t expect to capture the wow community with it, go into it knowing you’ll have to build a new audience from scratch and push hard to be radically different from wow 1.
And don’t shut wow 1 down because you aren’t going to capture them on the exit.
I would be really impressed that someone managed to build a time machine and send me back to 2006.
