World of Warcraft 2

Blizzard should consider going back to their roots of the good old Vanilla days.
Here are some things I would make if I was able to build a WoW2 server.

Classic style - max level 60
fix the zones they gave up on like Ashera, Blasted Lands and others.
throw in new raids like 10 man, 25 man, 40 man have a few dungeons and at least 1 raid in every zone on both sides of Azeroth.
no dungeon boosting
no bots
no tokens
no cash shop
balance classes and insert DK, Monk, DH
balance server factions
guild bank
arenas
more BGs

Feel free to add more.

The people working at Blizzard now would make WoW2. Think about it.

Why not lower XP if you have a 60 in group? make the mobs give less xp? make players quest in the open world, this would bring bots out in the open and be farmed by PVP and not able to farm.

If the same devs (that currently work at Blizzard) worked on World of Warcraft 2, then it would just be the same outcome.

WoW 2 would be more like a graphics & game engine overhaul to existing WoW and probably a timeline reboot/restart with an actual plan of what 10 expansions would look like.

The game can’t play like a 20 year old MMO and needs to innovate.

why does what someone’s level preference matter to you?

because then you would have LFG chat spammed with people selling boosts.

boosting tarnishes the game

Well seeing Thanos… I mean Zovaal his storyboard can shape into WoW ARR.

Everquest 2 tried this and ended up sinking itself and Everquest 1 by splitting up the playerbase. You’ll likely never see a WoW 2 until at least 5-10 years after WoW servers shut down.

you know boosts have been around since vanilla, correct?

World of Warcraft 2 to be released in 2031 if they started today.

Character transfers came out in 2006 and WOTLK is when we got race changing, faction changing, and change your character appearance.

thats…not what i meant?

If they had a WoW 2, I would not be surprised if it was not a completely fresh/new idea. Imagine an alternate path like FFXI and FFXIV took.

I don’t know if that really covers the whole picture. EQ2 did have the misfortune of releasing at the same time as WoW. On top of that, WoW ran on a toaster, and EQ2 was optimized for a future that never came.

I’d just remaster what they have, and make good changes. I don’t want WoW 2.

I’m honestly curious about FF14s long-term future because SquareEnix doesn’t make a lot of money financially off the game and has to keep devoting resources into it.

I doubt Blizzard would make a WoW 2.0 if WoW 1.0 shut down because it’s too much of a risk for little return.

An entirely new MMO from scratch would be better if they can start hooking in younger players .

I don’t see it being super popular long. Nothing since the first expansion has been innovative. It just grows sometimes in popularity because people get so mad at this game that they flock to it to cure that MMO itch.

Why would they start over the same. Its evident the people playing now dont want it that way. Classic dead most want some crazy + system not nothing like vanilla most wanted cash shop in tbc for a reason. No thanks I want something brand new and exciting like wow was when made which totally veered off from eq and basically boom got popular.
