I would have personally gone with “World of Gatecraft”… World of Timegatecraft stumbles off the tongue rather uncomfortably.

I agree, I just don’t see the need for timegates besides for trying to micromanage aspects of mythic raiding. It’s weird because I know they were put in place to prevent players who wanted to just no-life the content from grinding everything out in a couple of weeks and to stretch out content to make it feel like more content, but I think it actually has the opposite effect on the player experience . It makes things feel so slow and empty at first when I’m the most excited to sink my teeth into the game.

And the game is already set up like an infinite grind anyway. At a certain point, I just want to play the game. And when i’m really motivated to play, it sucks to be throttled because I’ll quickly lose that motivation and go play something else.

Renown & torghast & campaign & legendaries

Wanna engage with all these? Come back in two months

So True! It’s such a joke - paying for this game plus a monthly fee, and you can only do so much per day/week.

No life at the computer begins to figuratively and literally feel like I’m stabbing myself in the back maybe blizzard is catering to an aging player base.

sounds like it’s working as intended. Only folks I see complaining are content locusts

the time gating of this expansion will only drive more people away from it.

I dont get much free time, but when the wife and I can play, it really sucks to sit down for an extended play session on the weekend or something to find out…oh. Hope I’m free next week to see what happens on the next episode of dragon ball z. It’s just an odd gameplay experience that really sucks all the excitement of the moment away. So don’t think it’s an ideal situation for anyone unless you’re afraid of missing out on something.

Don’t forget the measly amount of actual story content we get is also all you guessed it - timegated!

I get some of the timegating to prevent having endless grinds on day one, but most of it is just ridiculous and obviously to stretch out what little content there is.

My brother is in the same boat time wise and I think that’s why he’s more attracted to classic right now, if you can’t play that little bit each day time gating really starts to suck.

The exact same thing since classic

Not sure how people are surprised Blizzard puts limits on this, cuz y’all would kill yourselves farming it to max on day 1 otherwise

Oh ya, the quest timegating is particularly silly. It’s barely anything. Like, I really cant just play through a questline this weekend. Gotta split it into 3 chunks. I dont get it.

Definitely part of the reason why im enjoying classic right now. I just can hop on and grind in burst when i get the opportunity.

They’re doing that anyway. Timegating doesn’t change that.

Crap, you right

Well in TBC at the moment I can spend as much time as I like running dungeons grinding rep to unlock heroic, get gear and other items.

If I want to spend a few hours grinding thrallmar rep, I can. In current retail wow, i’d be allowed to grind 2 dungeons a week, then have no more rep gains until the following week.

They need to timegate so you keep paying for your sub.
