Logged into my main (this toon) for the first time in the prepatch and I immediately noticed that my entire map was reset and there is fog of war everywhere. I see a few other forum posts about this but it is not in the list of known issues that Blizz published so I want to resurface the issue here.
Some people suggested that the Warband toy will fix the issue (and it largely does), but it does not fix the yellow text popup “discovering” every new area you go into. I’ve had this main since Wrath and it’s pretty annoying to get this discover message on places I’ve clearly been to. And maybe I am weird but I want my map to stay fogged for the places I haven’t been to on this toon so I can “earn” the discovery for those places for when I do go there. For those reasons, I will stubbornly be avoiding using the toy on this toon and hoping for an actual fix.
Any other toon I’ve checked seems fine, it just appears to be my main. I am pretty sure this is a bug caused from the Warband conversion, so I am hoping Blizz updates the known issues to include this so they can start working on a fix to retroactively restore this progress on affected accounts.
