World feels dead since Yesterday?

It seems that last night and now I almost not see people and SM is empty while before it was packed with players, anyone noticed this.

I have. Why did they increase layers

Because they want people to be able to complete quests in the open world, but manually going through and adjusting spawn rates of mobs and quest items takes time.

STV was a mess so they increased layers, but they can’t increase layers for just one zone so its everywhere.

because we are under the curve in leveling, people who nolifed got lvl 40, now either you get groups with people whotook their time leveling, or you try to get the alt no lifing curve

It feels so lonely.

They said they were going to increase layers, so the world is sparser. So people won’t feel that they have to spam dungeons due to quest competition.

Honestly, now that we’re a week or so in I thought quest competition was already fine.

Yea blizzard refuses to go back to hardware blades they own and instead we have to deal with layering which makes the server feel dead and eventually actually dead.

Just so another c-suite excec can get a bonus!

It’s so dope how pservers managed to handle battles with 500+ but a multi billon dollar company can’t bros!

Yep, I commented to my guild last night that there was like 10 people in SM when the night before there were 50.

The people who spam dungeons to 40 are already 40.

it is true that the thrill of SoD is starting to wear off.

At 5 am server had 10 layers g. In durator.

Yup noticed the same thing last night running through Hillsbrad and once in SM, only saw one horde player. Like wtf is this garbage? The whole purpose of Classic is to be engulfed with other players in the open world and the social aspect of it. Now world PVP seems dead and nobody is around. Literally such a buzz kill and it’s going to ruin the game.

Everyone just wants to level in SM anyway and do the quests for gold. Those people don’t want world pvp, they want an easy ride that they can grind to 40. Increasing layers just for STV was a mistake. I didn’t have a problem questing, and those people weren’t going to quest anyway. Only a few quests have unreasonable respawn times even with the increased spawn mechanic.

Feels empty, but you /who and it’s always 50… so it’s just too many layers.

they can - through Phasing technology which existed since Wotlk.

Turning chat back on might help

phasing and sharding are not technologies used in Classic or SoD as far as I know.

Layering was Blizzard’s compromise since phasing and sharding is what killed the community feel of retail wow. Layering is supposed to create separate entire worlds, aka ‘layers’, compared to sharding/phasing which create separate shards of zones but not the entire world.

So effectively you SHOULD be able to go from one side of Azeroth to the other without ever leaving a layer, while in retail you can’t expect that because every zone is sharded a thousand times over.

layering implementation has always been garbage. if theyre gonna force this on us at least use koreammo channels.

i also genuinely want to know why 200 people in stv is unplayable while on nostalrius like 5+ years ago you could have 1k+ people in a zone and it was playable.

Chaos Bolt feels like its dying. Everyone rushed to 40 via SM spam. LFG is pretty lifeless outside of a small rush hour window. Stocks are full of bots. Open world questing feels dull and not worth it compared to the SM spam.
