Heya…
So, I played a monk back in 8.0-8.1 and in Legion. Not a lot, mostly was an alt for farming event stuff and mount camps. I did a little MW in arena and tanked a few normal/heroic dungeons, but nothing special… I never touched WW at all.
I’m leveling up a new stable of characters on another server and tryin to find a main for SL. I’m currently leaning towards monk or shaman. I’ve never had a 120 shaman so I’m sorta blind on that at end game, but honestly… I barely did any real content and it was back at the beginning of the expansion with my monk, I might as well be blind on that as well.
My primary desire, at least initially, is to be able to comfortably solo my world content and Visions. If the Monk ends up being what I choose for my main, I wanna be able to go do all my essences, visions, 8.3 daily content, etc. I imagine I’ll be doing that as WW and I have 0 experience with it.
Hence my post. I actually rarely see monks complaining, which makes me feel like you guy are in a good place, it also seems to be a pretty positive community. So I’m hopeful you folk can help me with this decision.
Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide!
You don’t see monks complaining because they’ve already re-rolled to DH
. WW are terrible raid dps.
WW are not in a great spot in that regard, but they are good for soloing, PvP, and have a secure spot in dungeons with bursty aoe, stuns and ring. I recommend the PVP Conflict and Strife essence it is very powerful for soloing. Visions are quite easy as WW you shouldn’t have any issues there.

Not a concern for me personally, I won’t be doing anything past Heroic and I don’t need to be meta to pull that off.
That’s the meat i’m hoping for. Do you happen to have a shaman? Curious how they compare since Shaman is kind of my other ‘maybe’ at the moment.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll look into it!
I appreciate the feedback.
Reverse harm and touch of karma are the bread and butter for open world survival as WW. Let sweep and ring of peace will give you room to vivify if you need it. Once mobs start dying they’ll start dropping healing orbs for you as well.
Then again, you could also run BrM in the open world. Pull a couple dozen mobs, drop Dave the Black Ox Statue and laugh as they beat on it while you murder them.

on my other monk, I’ve tried this… Ox doesn’t seem to hold agro off me that well.
Too stronk. You must be less stronk.
