Naxx’s difficulty is fine, but so many of the bosses become beyond trivial when world buffs are added. Many guilds are skipping the dance completely on Heigan… this is not even close to the way the fight was designed to be done. The players aren’t outskilling the fight by skipping the dance, they’re skipping it by using player knowledge to push numbers that break the game design.
As it is now, it’s difficult to remove world buffs from the game… any guilds that haven’t cleared naxx yet will definitely be upset. If blizzard had instead came out a month before naxx, and said “all world buffs will be removed when entering any instance or battleground - these include songflower, rend, rallying cry, zg buff, and dmt at the start of phase 6 release” it would have been SO much better. It would have created hype for naxx and people might have cried for a bit but a lot would have been happy with the change.
Also just to add on to this, guilds were not using world buffs in vanilla - only in very rare situations and sparingly. This content was never designed or balanced for them.

I dont even raid anymore, but don’t you dare touch my world buffs!
I’ll make leveling as easy as I want to. And if I can’t do that…I’m threatening to boost!

Y’know, there actually were plenty of guilds going for world buffs for Naxx. Not in the same organized fashion we do them in today, there was no discord to organize them all in and less raiding guilds in general to provide buffs consistently, but plenty of us grabbed world buffs before hitting up a raid. It’s not exactly rocket science. People were just less hardass about it and until naxx most guilds weren’t really thinking about getting it for the whole raid group as frequently.
Naxx does remove world buffs. Most of my raid lost them before Anub

I didn’t want to spoil the fun of this post, I feel it was made in jest.
But I cant help myself and this is what gave it away for me:
My favorite part of browsing the world first’er streams the other night was watching some of the best guilds attempts fall apart in that room.
So ummm you’re part of the world 1st Naxx clearing speed run professional raiding guilds I see. Killed KT already? Content not challenging enough yes?

Well the ship already sailed on that idea
Numerous guilds including all the guilds to clear on day 1 abused the hell out of world buffs to do so, removing world buffs now would just make guilds still progressing in Naxx even more disadvantaged than the guilds to first clear.
Lost our world buffs 20 mins in. It’s fine.
World buffs is nothing compared to them abusing flasks like mana pots. Who cares, their progression is not your own.

The problem is that once people’s execution gets better, they won’t lose world buffs, and then they will use those world buffs to steamroll the instance.
The instance is long. I look forward to clearing it efficiently. If you can clear it without losing world buffs, you’ve done very well.
Exceeding expectations is not a problem by any means.
…you learn how to stand in one place and nuke, occasionally having to move for a single mechanic.
Also:
Honestly, you deserve to be able to use world buffs if you can keep them.
Of course, I’ve always felt that way, even in raids with much easier trash/bosses.

It’s none of your business how other players decide to raid. If you don’t like the world buffs then don’t get them. If your guild is trying to force you to get buffs then find a different guild.

They had multiple alts and raiders on standby with full world buffs ready to rotate in.
“Lost our world buffs 20 mins in. It’s fine.”
Just because you wipe on trash packs and can’t hold world buffs doesn’t mean they aren’t broken in Naxx
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry
They is not you or even me.
I never mentioned dying to trash :).
We started on Patchwork, I see your guild has yet to kill it. Don’t throw stones from glass house.
World buffs were there. If players didn’t utilize them back then…oh well. But don’t change Classic to suit the changed playerbase of today. That’s just a downward spiral feeding off itself that leads right back to the sorry state the game is in in Retail.
Also, it’s real simple. If you don’t like them…don’t use them. That’s up to you. Remember when the game had choices?
I main Horde this character hasn’t been in a raid in weeks. If you want to talk about which Avatars we’re using, you’re still hiding behind a retail character.
with the mandatory 5 minutes of sitting in a Naxx raid handing out water and buffing and the trash leading up to Patch which is substantial what was your first patch attempt like 1 minute long?
Yes because this game should totally be balanced around the bottom 10% of players world buffs are fine just because you wiped right
Too late for balance. Retail mythic raids are cleared in a matter of days but take the bottom percentiles of player base all tier to complete.
Everyone is wiping. Buffs are also being removed because HoTs are now necessary.
I don’t need to post my raid because I’m not the one making a claim that it’s too easy. I’m in the same mess the majority are.
I never said Naxx was too easy if anything I’ve said the exact opposite.
Just because the majority of people don’t know how to utilize world buffs without dying in Naxx doesn’t mean they aren’t broken for all of the guilds and players that do.
For the guilds that actually know how to abuse world buffs properly it’s still gamebreaking in Naxx. Even with distilled wisdom flasks, killing Sapphiron with 0 frost resist is not possible without world buffs. Claiming that is balanced just because you wiped 20 mins in is absurd if you’re trying to be serious here.
