I’ve played original vanilla/2019/SoM/SoD and now anniversary… people always cry about no changes but the SoD world consume and world buff changes were absolutely amazing for what the game has become in 2025 and I’d really like to see them in anniversary.
No long CDs for ony/nef/zg/dmf/rend
Add might of Stormwind for alliance
Monthly reset quest of ony/nef/zg/rend/MoS
At least 2x the rate of farmable consumable to meet demand of massive server
Keep boons at 1hour for now, poll community to change to 5min or other time length
There’s no reason it should take a few hours of your week to get world buffs or farming for many hours to afford consumables. Making this process simpler will allow easier raiding on alts and better life/game balance for everyone and should seriously be considered or at least polled.
It 100% is; however, those issues stem entirely from how the game is designed. At some point you can fight a massive, losing war to try to stop them, or you can consider changes to the design.
I’m not trying to insert my own preference here, just look at things from a broader perspective. Sometimes it’s absolutely worth preserving a design and sometimes it’s not worth the effort.
Every single one of us is going to have our own opinion on that, I suspect.
because blizzard created these problems in the first place and those changes actually make sense, and work effectively as shown in sod, and they would work effectively in anniversary too.
if we wanted to play sod, we would play sod, and some of us do. none of that is relevant to addressing server issues on anniversary.
also to add, idgaf if era is affected by the changes made to anniversary. in fact i hope they do affect era simply because you deserve better.
Okay but telling someone “retail is over there” (which i love to do btw) doesn’t really apply when ppl are talking about world buffs since classic is legit the only game in the history of games to have something like that.
I didn’t play SoM but I assume this means they weren’t available in raids.
It is interesting that you say that. My instinct is that is probably true because the main drivers of Classic raiding seem to be trivializing the encounters as much as possible with buffs in parallel to ranking well on warcraft logs.
I like the idea of only being able bring raid buffs provided by the roster and a limited number of consumables you can have active at one time. That is more compelling to me but you might be right that the majority aren’t in this for a challenge aside from personal DPS and clear times.
Dude people don’t even have enough restraint to not buy gold or even flasks, banning world buffs from raids would absolutely kill the game lol
Nobody wants to take twice as long clearing the raids they’ve already cleared 30 times
People (loads of people) are buying gold, to buy outrageously priced consumables and pay for world buffs in some cases (e.g. Rend buff, DMT buffs) to clear raids they have done already 30 times, probably way more than that when counting other versions of classic…
It sounds bonkers crazy because it is bonkers crazy
They’re so obsessed with making uncompetitive games into competitive games that they don’t see the irony in the entire situation
But if that’s what you want to do, go off I guess
