Dear Blizz, make the on a 4 hr cool down or add a “gold offering” to make it work. one time use is ridiculous and you know this.
they’re so you can rebuff if your raid wipes. not so you don’t have to farm wbs ever again.
Gold buyers will never have to farm wbs again.
Farming these consumables is more time consuming than getting the actual world buffs. Whether you’re buying gold or not.
…or just make them craftable.

Why do they insist on making everything tedious. Like, that’s so of the reason most of us quit Retail, to play Classic (in 2019). Because everything had devolved into a grind that if you missed one day you were permanently ‘behind’; so better log in everyday to boost that MAU/whatever other “engagement metrics” they use keep up!
We’re probably gonna end up stockpiling them for progression or wipes because someone stupidly forgot their Ony cloak and dies while tanking or other random mishaps. Not to have WBs on every single boss at all times.
If only you could get buffs for ‘free’.
Why they aren’t using professions for these is beyond me. Tag each buff to a profession to encourage diversity of them in each raid, rather than what they tried to do with earlier phases trying to make some professions objectively better for certain classes.
I’m fairly certain that if the current devs play at all, they are PUG players and have no clue that the game is meant to be collaborative.
How is buying a ton of bandages and stacking thousands of commendations more time consuming than getting the actual buffs?
Also we will have buff bots standing around selling them to people who are too lazy to even do that.
You can only hold 100 commendations at a time. Each consumable costs 100 and is at a different vendor somewhere in the world. These consumable buffs aren’t affected by the chronoboons. The back and forth alone is more time consuming than getting the real thing, and you can’t store them after use.
As they currently exist they feel like they’re designed for nobody… Groups fall into two camps: those that wipe (casual) and those that dont (hardcore). The groups that wipe are already unlikely to have the guild resources to buy these ad-infinum which makes them unlikely to be used at all by that camp except in rare circumstances. Keep in mind these world buffs cant be booned so it makes them even worse for more-casual guilds where deaths on trash are not rare. The more hardcore groups would rather keep their boon-able world buffs in-tact so they wont use them.
There is a ton of ways to make these more appealing without completely removing the need to World Buff, for example 10 charges on each with a long cooldown (3-5 days would do the trick). This would mean that you’d need multiple raid members to have them if you wanted to rebuff multiple times a raid but also makes them useful if you have a couple wipes here and there.
