World Buff Purging

World buffs need to be non-purgable. Most of them already are, but at this point they just need to make the rest non-purgable.

There is ZERO positive effect on the game. It just creates an incredibly toxic environment where people level priests and shaman specifically to grief. Sometimes they even do it on the opposing faction to grief members of their main faction they don’t like.

It’s toxic, it creates zero positive effect and serves only to grief players and ruin people’s attempt to have fun pushing the meters in raids.

Just fix it already. Tired of 24/7 priests and shaman in every major city’s port area and inn. No reason for this to exist except to grief, which last I checked was against TOS.

low levels need to be immune to damage from players outside their level range.

Purging is not griefing.

If done during genuine PvP, sure. But, when you sit in major cities all day waiting for people to port in just to purge world buffs, it is by definition, griefing. You’re not trying to play the game or engage in genuine pvp, you’re just trying to ruin their day. Any claim otherwise is complete BS.

“genuine PvP” is not a thing.

now that we’re done trolling…why is my idea bad, exactly?

That’d be pretty OP for PVP.

  • Play on a PvE server
  • Be better than them
  • Prepare your character earlier

He is right. It’s not grieffing you CAN avoid this easily. Stop asking for #Change because of your personnal choice/organisation

Incorrect.

I don’t have a problem with them being purgable, but I think the people who hang around major cities just to instantly remove it make a valid case for griefing.

Otherwise, I consider it just as valid as ganking you on a rogue so you lose it, or something else.

Of course, I play shaman, I’m biased.

I have a better idea: Why don’t they just make it so that unless you enter the opposing side’s capital city, the only way anyone can PvP you is if you voluntarily flag by typing /pvp ? So if you want to “push the meters in raids,” you can simply not flag and stroll through Blackrock Mountain, unperturbed by how many members of the opposing faction you have to pass by.

Wow, I wonder why Blizzard didn’t think of implementing this for any of their realms.

Spelling out the implication ahead of the same “Gold Star” deflection you gave Robokappa:

There’s no such thing as non-genuine PvP. You chose to play on a realm where PvP can happen at any time in most of the world and you’re complaining about that choice. Going “whirgl it’s griefing” will not make Blizzard agree.

Explain to me how that is griefing but a level 60 killing a 25 is not. Explain to me how FactionA outnumbering FactionB and camping the BWL orb all night long so FactionB can’t raid isn’t griefing, but dispelling a buff is.

I’ve literally logged off unflagged and logged in flagged. Also, sometimes it’s unavoidable. Today I went to get DM buffs, then ported to stormwind. Instant purge. Happened again when I went to get ZG buff because you have purgers sitting on ZG island you have to kill so they don’t purge your entire raid.

I kept ZG and Ony because they aren’t purgable. Why not just make the rest unpurgable? The only reason it exists is to grief. Remove it.

Does it happen in other locations also? There could be a workaround here.

I got purged in Stormwind and Darnassus today. I’ve been purged in Ironforge as well, but thank you for the AMAZING tip captain genius. I hadn’t thought of trying a different city.

Wow… I’ll keep an eye out for you when I’m on my priest

I never said it wasn’t, especially if we’re talking a corpse camping.

Like, you complain about red herrings and whataboutism while literally crying about camping lowbies, which isn’t what this thread is about. The hypocrisy is amazing.

Truly a great community.
