Reading these lists from your and Quivermethis is making me realize just how bad my RNG is, LOL. I don’t even want to think how many times I’ve done SoO for the mount and shoulders (both of which still elude me). At least 130 kills of Garrosh on my two paladins and my DK before the skip circa Legion I think (did some farming before but never counted), and after the skip was implemented, I’ve upped it to 5 with my uncapped toons since it’s much easier now.
Damn shame those shoulders aren’t on the list of buyables because that’d be an instant farm for me.
EDIT: Okay, my friend just reminded me to shut the hell up because I got the Ragnaros bird AND the Fyrakk rare drop on my first attempts, BUT STILL

I hate seeing the stats sometimes.
Like seeing antoran charhound at 138 attempts and invincible at 188 on my hunter is pretty depressing.

I would say 1 kill to see ashes too, but I haven’t really chased that one. Though I did get the Sark manuscript 2nd kill… I didn’t necessarily count the ones for the list, I just went to my Armory page for my Evoker and Warlock (former main) and added their old kill lists together.
the thing about BMAH is that they aren’t easy to get… the desirable mounts are usually bought up quite quickly for gold cap.
i recently saw the garrosh shoulders go up for gold cap almost instantly.

My hunter is at 74 and still nothing.
It was before account-wide mounts were a thing and I didn’t care about it. Also my next horror story was I got the Drake of the North Wind (from Vortex Pinnacle) on an alt back in Cata, but couldn’t afford the flight training on that alt. And later deleted that alt. Which meant when account-wide collections became a thing, I had to acquire it all over again.
grinding a currency that is easy to obtain really isn’t the same thing as defeating a boss once a week over thousands of times.

Might be cold comfort, but if it makes you feel any better, it took me only 20 runs to get Ashes back in Mists, but when I did, the drama set off a chain reaction that tanked our guild.
I was running it solo. The drama was caused by someone having a meltdown when they saw the message in guild chat when they thought it was ‘perfect for their character’. RP servers are fun.
As much as I’d like to keep lamenting drop rates, I gotta hit the hay - big day tomorrow.

I don’t understand the outrage.
You’ve been able to bypass farming these mounts since WoD via the BMAH.
Then they screwed up and made them almost 100% drop rate for Evokers at the start of DF. Did they take these mounts away? Nope.
The “fix” was to make them 1%, which actually might be 2% since we can bonus roll them, for everyone.
The prestige of these mounts died the day we could play Evokers.

When they went from 1/2000 drop rate, to a mere 1/100 drop rate (thanks, Evokers!!!) that was all the “easy access” they needed. Putting them on a vendor, in Retail or in MopMix is stupid.

The mods need to reverse this. It doesn’t deserve a flag. The basic premise is actually sound.

The best part of this thread is the OP has 12 mounts according to Data For Azeroth which means they are either just stirring up garbage to stir up garbage or a second sock puppet account for a forum troll or, more than likely, both. I highly doubt they have any of these mounts they are so upset over on their main account.

I helped out someone and in return, they paid for me to get a carry because that is the ONLY way I would ever have been able to get it done. I insta died and so did many others in the group. Because I was a carry, I stayed dead while getting to watch everyone fight.
They did an amazing job and that boss is, by no means, easy. It required a lot of coordination by the group to get it done and get it done right. It took a while, as well. Iirc, it’s on the lower end of most cleared bosses, there was a thread about the numbers about a week ago. Maybe you should go read that.
More trivial than killing a world boss with an auto-attack?
