Work orders

Am I missing something? Maybe i just dont understand but work orders feel terrible. I have a quest and cant complete it because no one uses the system (possibly because my battlegroup is dead) also seems like such low commision for crafting epic quality items, Though i dont know if that is set by a player looking for a deal or the game TBH.

Im looking for feedback on this system, maybe im using it wrong but id rather craft BOES again.

Commission is set by players.

I needed an epic boots crafted for my character and I had asked in trade chat if someone could craft it. They ended up putting in crafting points in order to make it and so I gave a generous tip for it cause I appreciated it. All really depends on the situation. I’m sure as time goes on and people are more aware of it the commission will go up and the orders will too. Just give it time to develop within the communities.

Not a lot of need for work orders right now except for quest/kp

the system is designed(or at least it is going to function) as a buyers market, especially with the ah’s being region.

My opinion is that the goblins made a remarkable amount of money last expansion from legendaries because of the time and money investment and they want a system that was not going to be so advantageous to them. In the long term a AH focused player will still make way more money than the average player, but the costs for stuff is going to be held down unlike last expansion, so they wont be getting crazy rich crazy fast without some creativity.

People are putting up their own mats, aren’t they? A bit of gold and some skill in our prof seems good to me.

I imagine it will be utilised better over time. I had a look at the orders up for leatherworking (playing a shaman) and it was full of requests for recipes that come from the raid.

is that how it works? well thats good then i thought it used crafter mats, makes more sense now.

Crafting this expansion was a “gold sink for suckers” imo. The days of making money easily hand over fist with professions is long gone. None of the crafting is going to really matter unless you’re a true cutting edge player (which most of us aren’t)

Most orders I have seen provide the mats for them, you just need to know the pattern. 90% of what I see is requests for very high end recipes.

I’m not 100% sure. I think it can actually be a mix. At least I think that’s what I read some months ago.

Yeah, I think most things that can be made now get filled pretty quickly. The only things you typically see are from rare boe recipes or ones that aren’t available yet.

I did get lucky and pick up one that offered a 15k tip to finish a ring that I would have happily done for free since I got the first time bonus as well.

I think the system will pick up steam as the expansion continues. It’s new and people are still getting their feet wet.

i guess thats my biggest issue then, not enough demand. hopefully it picks up however you think the majority of players would be trying to gear up with crafted gear now, before replacing it next with raid gear.

I think this is going to be a huge failure. I read on wowhead about them let you use alts again - they did on beta then they didn’t but I can’t see any other way I can complete those weekly without alts and even then there is a limit to what my alts can use.

I wish they would change that quest to require something else.

I dunno. I think it will be interesting to see it play out. I imagine over the span of the expansion we’ll see people who just have a backlog of mats who want to use them for particular transmogs and not for the strength of the items using the system. And the recipes aren’t hard to learn. They just take a bit of time. Eventually most crafters who stick to it will be on a level playing field. And the system is set up to only allow you to fill 20 orders per week, unless they are in their last few hours. So everyone gets a go.
