Hello,
I returned for DF on the promise that things would be more alt friendly. I left during WOD after playing since BC and returned at the end of BFA and played for a few months into SL. I’m just not up for doing the same grind over and over and over again on my different characters when I have done it already. I’m someone who enjoys playing different characters. I also play other MMOs that are VERY alt friendly. I usually have a character that I “grind” mats and other things on to make it easier for my alts when it comes to crafting or gear etc. I discovered that I am unable to use the materials that I have been grinding on my Rogue, who I don’t plan to do any serious content with, to have things crafted for my DH or Monk.
I understand why the system is in place, it’s to keep players from buying gear via RMT. However, this can simply be avoided by only allowing things to be crafted for characters on your account. This would be a more alt-friendly approach while still dealing with the issue of RMT.
Don’t get me started on the renown not being account wide. Yes I know about the boost to rep gain for alts at renown 10 and 20 but there are better ways this could have been handled to keep people from building an army of crafting alts early in the xpack. I’m so glad other MMOs I play have this figured out and have rep account wide. I hope that one day Blizzard can figure this out too. I’ll give you a hint… look at GW 2 and SWTOR.
TLDR: Allow crafting orders to have things made FOR your alts using your other character’s materials.
