Worgen still need work - solid true black fur, posture for males, tails, paladins and monks

as much as I agree with everything else here, the druid forms are a part of the lore… and it does make sense, worgens only exist because some druids tried to go into a wolf form and went savage because the druid wolf form is to dangerous and is now outlawed…

this is actually a big part of druid lore, i could still agree with just not even using a cat form at all and just staying in worgen form though, but any sort of wolf form would be a mistake lore wise… any new druid “form” cant just be pulled out of the air all druid forms exist for a reason in the lore and come from a wild god the druids had a relationship with, like ursoc for bear for example. With zandarli and kul tiras druids being an exception since their druid forms come from a different form of magic not the same as traditional druids

I am not afraid to say that I find all of the druid lore immensely silly, and they also change it very easily. They could simply get control of the form again, given they are the form and that we are friends with Goldrinn, and use that form to DPS and to tank.

But really I’d prefer just DPSing and tanking in worgen form, so I’d be fine with that as the alternative to a wolf.

But I would want to DPS and to tank in worgen form, not just DPS.

That, however, isn’t that big a deal to me; everything else on the list is, haha. I’m not that crazy about druids anyway, so…

it isnt just get control of the form again, that is what worgen are… worgen are druids who got trapped in the wolf form because the wolf form drives them insane and turns them into savages, it was cursed… this curse made it so these worgen could also spread the curse to human they bit, which is what is going on in the worgen starting zone

I’m fully aware of the worgen lore, trust me.

But the worgen before Cata had absolutely nothing to do with druids. It’s very easy for Blizz to alter the lore.

And them being druid forms means they should be able to just remain in worgen form for all their druid forms, seeing as how they already are one. So worgen should be their own tank and DPS forms.

actually the worgen from pre-cata are people who where bit by worgen and infected with curse, and as I said i do agree with being able to dps in the worgen form but tanking is a different situation. druids’ tanking abilities comes from ursoc which specifically requires bear form

Then how are the trolls able to tank as a dinosaur-thing instead of a bear? Because of a loa? So let Goldrinn allow worgen to tank in worgen form, or just let them do it themselves because they’re worgen.

My point is that worgen are werewolves. Werewolves should be able to tank without having to turn into bears. It’s preposterous. A worgen can tank as other classes, let them tank as a druid without having to turn into a different kind of animal that isn’t even as powerful-looking as their worgen form.

The worgen pre-Cata were aberrations that Arugal summoned and were otherwise very mysterious, but it is implied they came from some kind of shadow realm, and they also only transformed at night (see the cursed villagers in Silverpine in Classic). This is still vaguely reflected in their racial called “Aberration” that gives them resistance to shadow magic. They had nothing to do with druids. That was all altered and added after Blizzard wanted to make them playable. So, as I said, it isn’t hard for them to alter the lore and they do so without clarification or acknowledgment of the change. Just let worgen tank in worgen form and it isn’t that big a difference.

the kind of shadow realm was the emerald nightmare where the worgen where banished to before greymane released them to fight the scourge… And zandarli druids are not “druids” they are priests of the loa, they just use the in-game druid class, what you are wanting here is not a druid… simple as that, its not just going up to the wild god and asking hey can we tank as a wolf now?

All of that was still retcons, though.

And okay then, new class that lets worgen tank and DPS in worgen form using their claws, if worgen aren’t allowed to repurpose druid to be interesting the way Zandalari apparently are allowed to do. :woman_shrugging: I hate druid tanking, anyway.

I don’t care what it’s called, I would just like to tank using my claws like an actual werewolf.

I personally would love to see race-specific classes that explore many race specific cultures and abilities like that, for example troll withdoctors who use voodoo or orc blademasters… the unfortunate thing is it will most likely never happen and the best we can get is using another class and just roleplaying as the other thing… examples being troll shamans and orc warriors/rouges… hopefully blizzard will consider giving the worgen the ability to hide weapons, but i would suggest just using fist weapons

I’d love to see that, too. I think the hide weapon option would really fix all of the issues insofar as worgen using their claws like the NPCs is concerned.

I do use fist weapons on my rogue, and I’m glad I’ll be able to use fist weapons on my fury warrior, but it really isn’t the same. Especially since the combat stance for male worgen, ever since the model update, looks strangely terrified in the face when targeting with one-handed weapons, but ferocious when targeting unarmed. Really not sure why they did that.

im not sure either, my rouge is also a worgen… i just use a hood and dont look at my ccharacter’s face XD

And we haven’t heard a negative answer yet.

I quite like that posture option.
Make it happen please =]

All of these options are great. Posture is my biggest personal ask. I’d also like the eye color and blind eye customizations to be independent, and for the blind eye to be a choice between right/left/both/none. I’d be happy with fully independent eye colors, but I’m happy with the two-color options for Worgen on alpha right now.

I don’t know if I would grow a tail on my main, but I definitely would on alts, and I think they should absolutely be an option for everyone.

I’m pretty sure we’ll either suddenly have it or never have it at all, like we have for years, rather than actually hearing a response from Blizzard about any of this. XD

Think we’ll get a new build this week? Think anything human or worgen related will be in it?

Furries are great folks, excellent community.

I’m still of the mindset that I would like to see a lore friendly 8 foot form first and foremost. After that optional tails are second on my list. Followed closely by the option for male Worgen to stand straight and other fur colors. I know currently some are crying its not fair Worgen players are getting the same options as Stormwind humans but that statement alone shows the issue with Worgen customization as we are taking a customizable penalty due to our mostly unused human form that is simply Stormwind humans. There is nothing unique that makes our human form different from that of the humans down to the racial dance which could be changed in the case of a Gilneas human to the waltz humans can do. Don’t believe me goto the mansion in Boralis and walk into the dancing circle as a human or in the Worgen human form the dance will not be the normal human dance. Worgen customization is severely lacking and this is a good chance for us to get some new looks

I personally think worgens look better without tails.
