Worgen Starting Zone is rough

Recently ran through the Worgen starting zone. It was completely botched and barely playable. At least 60% of the quests here are broken in some way.

Quests where you are mounted and run through worgens (saving the alchemist, throwing torches) all aggro mobs to you and it doesn’t drop when you are removed from the mount so you die from a horde of angry worgen.

The ice trap quest with the dark ranger the item doesn’t unfreeze you.

The guards you summon with the horn, when you have to get into the house for the item to cure the curse. all the undead rangers attack you while the guards stand and stare.

Most herbing and mining nodes phase out when you reach them.

When you get to the quest to go stealth and kill two gilneans (in tempest reach) when you get back to turn in the quest. All the guards around the quest giver (greymane I think) attack you.

The guard dogs that detect stealth don’t even sense you regardless of how close.

The Battle for Gilneas… Broken since release. Just about every part of this quest is broken due to phasing bugs etc. It’s embarrassing this quest remains this broken after so many years. I was only able to get through it on the rogue.

During the battle of Gilneas when you fight the huge undead boss in the square. You have to kite him back to the cannons in the alley to one shot him or you just die over and over.

After boarding the airship to finish the last quest…at the end of it you fall through the ship to your death. (You still complete the quest though.)

Notable mention:
You give us running wild but it’s not usually because there is no riding trainers to train the skill. I left the experience, beaten and bruised around level 16 a mount would have been nice, but not necessary. It is odd you give us running wild and we cant use it.

I will try to update with quests with wowhead links. I’m sure I missed many bugs I experienced.

I was really unimpressed with the quality of this experience. It left me feeling like you do not care about anything but the end game.

This is so odd. I did this quest today and I had the opposite experience, I thought “why have they nerfed this thing to the ground?”. Gorerot hit like a wet noodle and I was using auto attacks to take him down trying to give Lord Darius Crowley time to show up to help me. He didn’t come, so I abandoned the quest to do it again. He still did not show. This has not happened to me before (I think I’ve done this about 7 times), normally Crowley shows up to tank the thing and the catapults are needed to kill it.

Part two of this quest was also a little wonky. Prince Liam ran away from the battle instead of into it to save his father, for example.
Watching a walkthrough of the Battle for Gilneas City on youtube I’d say something bad has happened to this entire scenario.

They designed the zone to be ran by a thousand players at once, never once thinking about how it would play when the flood of worgen became a single player trying to make it thru the zone.
