Hello fellow wow players.
I wish worgens could have more ‘significant’ racial skills.
They are described as ‘living in the shadows’ many times… Descriptions of cunning and many others are well-known in lore.
Maybe a shadow melt-like, from our cousins NE.
Also, their senses are enhanced. Always sense enemies nearby, hearing conversations from afar, smelling … At least a beast or human tracking in the minimap or a racial bonus for detecting stealth.
And the heritage seems pretty, but goofy when compared to other races like humans/orcs.
What do you guys think about it? The fight for Gilneas should come with more racial updates. (?)

I really don’t see the point in a racial revamp. Darkflight is fine. They should maybe change the animation to use their ‘mount’ form run for a brief bit but that’s it.
As for the heritage armor I loved it aside from the shoulders. It’d be nice if you could have a worgen stay in human form for good so you can keep the voice/heiritage etc without being… well, a worgen. Same goes for Dracthyr. I love my Dracthyr’s visage but hate her Dracthyr model.

Darkflight can stay, I just wish it was the same speed as Druids’ Dash or Rogues’ Sprint.
I’d gladly trade that speed skinning racial for something like Shadowmeld, though.
Sensing enemies nearby would be awesome, maybe similar to Demon Hunters’ detecting demons, or Pally’s sensing undead.
Sorry, I had to fix this. It’s like they started with a decent idea for our heritage set and then drank Draino and said to heck with it.

I personally think the Heritage quest needs a part 2 like the dwarves and Blood elves got with Tess admitting she made a mistake about gilneas being more than about being a worgen and she forgot about the actual worgen who risked their lives for their homeland.
That kind of defeats the whole purpose of picking a worgen to begin with doesn’t it?

More options are always a better thing. It hurts no one to pick a worgen and stay in human form all the time.

I know that. It’s just weird to me when you can just pick a human already and RP being from Gilneas
Plus, who picks the werewolf inspired class just want to play as a human? It’s soo boring
That’s just me though.

Boring to you, not someone else. Who knows? Maybe there are players who prefer to be a human to fight trash mobs, but then wolf out against a rare or a boss or something. If they’re having fun, that’s all that matters.

I’m not saying it’s a bad thing or anything. I just find it weird is all. But if that’s what some people find fun, that’s cool and all. It’s just a personal thing you know?
No, I understand you. I play my worgen in wolf mode all the time myself. I don’t really find humans all that interesting, visually.
But I’m all for more options for others.
Of course. And the Worgen do have a racial already called Calm the Wolf which you can stay in your human form, it turns you into a worgen during combat and you go back to being a human afterwards.
I guess other options are fine, but having yet another HUMAN option is soo boring to me

I see where you are coming from, but after playing a bit with the recent addition ‘‘Calm the Wolf’’, it’s pretty close to what you are describing. You instantly transform back to human form when out of combat.
I’m in human form like 70% of the time I play with my main, it’s actually amazing.

Calm the Wolf has been an amazing for a lot of RPers and I can see why. It’s a neat racial after all. Glad you’re enjoying the revamped racial though
I forgot about Calm The Wolf. Yes that was a good addition and I enjoy it on this char. Being a Druid I hardly see my Worgen form anymore, which I kind of have mixed feelings about.
My other Worgen characters though, man, I personally kinda wish they would have put a timer or something on the toggle. Every. Single. Mob… whooooosh worgen whoooosh human … whooooosh worgan…whooooosh human. I just can’t do it, it kinda drives me nuts. So on my others I don’t even bother with Calm the Wolf and just stick with using Two Forms.
Edit: One thing I forgot. A lot of times I’ll hang out at the camp in Emerald Dream AFK doing something. I’ll be in human form, but I don’t know what it is, I think it’s when someone is doing that spriggand quest…but every few minutes for no apparent reason “whoooosh…whooooosh…whooooosh”. OMG stop! It’s gotten where I’ll make sure I’m in bear or cat form before going AFK.
If I could change one racial it would be the skinning one. Get rid of it.
Then I would replace it with some kind of Pounce ability. Worgen throughout the lore; in the comics, the books, and in-game, all have a common theme of ambushing their prey. We see them in-game leap from the ground up into trees, across buildings, etc.
I would love for them to get some kind of Pounce ability that reflects that they are predatory hunters.

While I agree that the Dracthyr sort of stepped all over some pretty core worgen racial gimmicks, I don’t think they’re the only ones who need a revisit of their racial abilities.
I explode on death and summon an anvil. I’d take that skinning buff, sounds great!
What I WOULD love to see for worgen is the option for them to not display weapons and melee with their claws if they want. Because a werewolf with a sword is kind of silly.
I’d also want to allow worgen druids to opt into using their worgen form as their feral DPS form. Because why does a werewolf need to turn into a panther?

Most, especially Horde players feel the other way.
Speaking as someone with a worgen druid, absolutely. However, I’d also really like Wolf (feral) and Dire Wolf (Guardian) forms for Worgen, as something that feels more appropriate to them. Pack Forms, basically.
If I were to replace the skinning racial, maybe another related to a pack where each worgen player gains a 1% increase to DPS/Healing Done for every other Worgen in the party/raid. Probably cap it at 5% or something. I’m not a numbers person.

I’m surprised they didn’t use this as a racial, considering Worgen have pretty much a Spider-Sense canonically.

They do? I know they can see auras around people, as mentioned in the Wolfheart novel, but I don’t remember them having a “Spider-sense”
