I know I’m not the only one that had high hopes for the worgen heritage armor, especially considering how spectacular many of the heritage armors look. But, as I’m sure others were, I was disappointed with the reveal.
My critiques:
• The coat should be longer, KT length at least.
• Too much brazen gold. We don’t see gold as a powerful color representative of Gilneas AT ALL.
• The hat needs some love.
• The shoulders hurt my heart.
What do you all think?
Nothing about it is good, it’s not even armor it’s a high res version of the nobles cloth armor. Nothing about it says gilnean, nothing about it is armor. The colors looks way off, the entire theme is just bad. It screams this was pushed back to the last possible moment and was rushed
I like it… except those mismatching shoulders.
Doesn’t need to be “armor”. KT set isnt really armor either.
I agree. I prefer the less plated look for worgen, fits Genn well. But, could’ve been done better for sure.
Am I the only one who thinks its pretty good looking? Sure the Shoulders arent the best but come on no shoulders ever looked good on a Worgen. It totally fits their theme. I really love the sleeves on the coat and the socks really finishes it. Im pretty sure I’ll be running this mog on my Worgen.
(To be fair the female model rocks it better then the male.)
Everything about it is terrible. It looks incredibly unremarkable. Compare it to every other heritage armor out there - it looks like it was thrown together as an afterthought, despite it being delayed until the next patch.
Me, I don’t give a rip about Gilnean heritage. I want to celebrate being a werewolf. I know lore people disagree. But even with the whole ridiculous tophat British look, this is a sad attempt.
It should at least look as glorious as the other heritage armors, no matter what it’s trying to be. This looks like something someone threw together trying to beat a deadline.
Personally I love it, I’m going to hide the shoulders though.
Give me a trench coat, I’ll just sigh and hide the shoulders.
The shoulder model is good but the colors dont match.
Needs to be the same blue as everything else.
I agree with OP, but I don’t think they’ll do much to change it since they’ve already released what it looks like.
It isn’t dark enough, cloak is too short. So much gaudy gold.

Was hoping for more of a trench coat, one we would go shirtless under still. Also don’t care for the colors and hats look horrible on the male worgen, but otherwise it’s not horrible and I’ll still grind out Gilneas rep to get it.
Agreed. Gray is the color of Gilneas. Replace the gold with gray or at least silver.
Bear in mind that the KT coat is as long as it is because the animations KTs have cause minimal clipping. It’s possible the worgen coat isn’t as long due to the lumbering nature of our animations.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the Worgen heritage armour probably looks better when they’re in their human form…
They could make anchor points that stick out from the legs to anchor the coat to. Kinda how cloaks dont clip tails.
Good thread, it’s not just pointless bashing on anything Blizzard does, but rather constructive criticism and feedback.
I cannot express my disdain for this set enough.
It looks like something they knocked out in an evening. The goblin one is pretty bad as well.

Veeery disappointing. Bad shoulders - why spaulders instead of epaulettes? And whats with all the Stormwind gold?
Is the Heritage quest going to be about letting Gilneas go and accept life as a refugee in Holy Stormwind?
Looks extremely rushed. Like no thought was put into it besides wanting to update the Gilnean Finery outfit. I wanted something with physics like all the other races got so far. They really should have taken some inspiration from the Witchwood set in Hearthstone.
And why is everyone so excited about the top hat? It doesn’t even look good on our model, its way too big in both forms.
I largely agree with OPs list, and i come bearing possible fixes for some of it.
-Coat longer. Easy.
-Gold can be kept I think, but make it tarnished. As Gilneas is a very rainy place the gold would suffer tarnishing in the constant humidity.
-One possible route with the hat would be a tall, wide brimmed witch hunters hat as seen with Greymane’ elite skin in Heroes of the Storm.
-The shoulders ARE atrocious. Maybe the tarnished gold would help make them less of an eyesore, but i would propose a duster mantle as seen with Genn’s coat. Maybe underneath the shoulders to lend some volume.
-As a personal suggestion: give it some tatters, and fade the black a bit. Gives the whole thing together a “Veteran Gilnean Adventurer” aesthetic and softens to contrast with the gold.
I hope that my unsolicited input in any way helps to create a more visually appealing result.
