Worgen death knights

Is there a lore/story explanation for how they even exist?

My dk used to be human, swapped to worgen on a whim, before thinking to myself that the worgen/gilneans couldnt exist as death knights because they were all locked behind the wall, inaccessible to the lich king at the time he created (and was betrayed by) his player death knights.

I can headcannon my way past it when I’m using blood spec, just play it off as worgen bloodthirst and rage or something, but whenever I’m using unholy for soloing it just seems weird running around with undead minions and using scourge disease magic

Because worgen dk is the epitome of edginess. I mean you are a human cursed with licantropy and also ressed as lk minion. Its the edgiest race+class combo (maybe blood elves dh or ne dh named urnotprepared, wins).

About the lore… Yeah idk maybe you escaped? Maybe you are just a gilneas dead soldier from one of the wars before the closing of the gates? Idk bliz probably thought "u know what’s cooler than a werewolf? An undead werewolf necromancer who wears plate.

Hey I don’t mind I love worgen dk haha

Worgen death knights were the feral worgen roaming Silverpine. The ones who served under Arugal. They were not in Gilneas behind the wall so were free pickings for the Scourge.

I RP a worgen death knight from time to time. I got out of worrying about her backstory by making her an amnesiac. Didn’t feel like overthinking their lore.

If you do the DK starting area with a Worgen the npc from the player character’s past says you were servants of Arugal. You and your buddy escape from Shadowfang Keep. So Worgen DKs weren’t behind Greymane’s Wall but in Silverpine Forest.

^ This is why I have one!

This is a quote from the quest A Special Surprise:

You don’t remember me? We were both servants of Arugal back in Silverpine Forest. We put up with his merciless torture for ages. It was you who saved me on that fateful night when we escaped Shadowfang Keep. Without you I would have died. YOU! The most noble worgen I ever knew.

It is redundant how Forsaken dk are the epitome of redundancy.

I’m only a Worgen DK for the glow eyes. I honestly don’t even remember the opening questline that explained it. I RP as a Spellblade.

It’s in the questline itself.

In short, you were one of Arugal’s worgen, until you and a buddy escaped.

You were running around, doing you werewolfy-goodness, until you ran afoul of the Undead.

It didn’t end well for either of you.

There is no need to explain anything.

I now want to try a Worgen DK

if they can explain worgens… then allow my Zandalari to be a DK.

KT, DID, Mag’har and Zandalari are races older than WotLK and should have been able to roll DKs.

I rolled a Worgen DK strictly for the Darkflight lol!

Forsaken DK’s are Human DK’s but far less fresh

we’re just so radical we transcend all lore rules to bring ourselves into existence
