But anyways. I still want a solid fur option for all the base colors. For example, we just got white, but how come we don’t have a solid black, brown, grey, like we see in Vanilla WoW or in the Curse of the Worgen comic?
Come on Blizzard. I don’t want to have brown fur where my mane is darker than the rest, I just want to be a solid brown color.
Hmm.
How about… there are subtly different strains of the curse? This would also suggest why some have glowing eyes while others do not. i.e. Ivar Bloodfang’s feral worgen would have glowing eyes and tails because they’re full feral worgen and thus nearer to the source of the curse, while someone who gained the worgen curse through the ritual with the blood (i.e. Hillsbrad people) would maybe have non-glowing eyes and no tail.
And then just let players mix and match it as they see fit.
I’m just spitballing here.
Precisely this. Solely because lore is basically irrelevant now, and imagine getting angry over a lack of customization because of your concept art strawman argument.
What would should be getting angry at is the fact that there’s too many cool races that aren’t playable…
This isn’t far off, there are two ways to become Worgen, or I should say, there WERE:
Being bitten/drinking worgen blood - this is how almost every worgen has been made, and likely how every worgen currently around was made a worgen.
Arugal’s Shackles - Back in Vanilla WoW, in Silverpine Forest we see the Moonrage pack of worgen who are based out of Pyrewood village. All these worgen were turned by Arugal giving them magical shackles which changed them into worgen. This is why they are human during the day and change into worgen at night. But lorewise all these worgen are likely dead as the Forsaken killed a lot of them, if not all of them.
So it is possible that their could be different “strains” of the curse.
I really want a true black fur They have that one black fur but it’s accented with white and brown. All they would need to do is fill it in with the same black and it’s be amazing in my eyes.
Speaking of eyes, I really do wish they’d fix the eyes glows.
That’s a possibility but unfortunately, per Blizzard, the worgen we play are Gilnean Though I suppose with what they are doing with dwarves and the Wildhammers… they could add stuff like that? In my first worgen video, (which was actually before we had info on the heritage armor quest chain), I had suggested that the player goes itno the Dream to get their curse aligned, that the end result ended with Goldrinn’s boon, some sprouting tails as a result. Kind of like the night warrior scenario for nelves.
But, no more tail discussion atm.
What I really would like the most (other than tails) are those ears from the OP!
I love this idea tbh. It’s what the heritage armor quest should’ve been. Heavens forbid we want to embrace the “wolf” part of playing a “wolfman” instead of being a cookie-cutter cockney stereotype.
I actually suggested that not only it unlocked a tail option but the ability to hide weapons for transmog so that players could actually fight with their fang and claws!
Nah bro, Blizzard wants us to know that being Worgen is a curse (which it is, it is just hard to show in-game in an MMO) and that we should not want to be Worgen. We should want the curse to die out because it doesn’t define us!
That heritage quest should have brought attention to how yes it is a curse, but what makes the Gilneans unique is that they took that curse and turned it into their greatest strength. They have accepted their lot as “monsters” to better survive and thrive. They become monsters to hunt monsters. That’s what it should have been alas, Blizzard wants to make Gilneans/Worgen just furry Stormwind Humans and erase our whole racial identity.
Being honest. This has nothing to do with furries but all my life I have been a fan of werewolves. I know it’s a damn curse but I would want to totally be a werewolf if they were real xD
Blizzard hasn’t really hit the mark post-Cata about how savage worgen really are. We only see Genn being Genn for the most part. I think that was why I really hated the worgen female rework announcement so much because I felt the eyes were too Disney like. There’s no ferocity. All of my worgen characters that I rp have a bloodthirst. Some handle the affliction better than others but all of them portray the savagery when in form.
