Anyone else have this problem? In vanilla there wasnt as much quest text and you just delved into the lore on wikipedia. I like the story but there is too much text in my opinion.
Anyone else feel the same or do you enjoy reading all that? There is so much NARRATIVE happening like a book. A lot of quests are paragraphs of nothing. But I always fear skipping it due to fear of missing out on something that matters.
I do enjoy reading all the Quests actually as I might find some treasures within the Lore to discuss with the people on this Forum. I would prefer to leave no stone left unturned.

Only WoW could foster a playerbase that posts on the forums specifically dedicated to the story complaining that there is too much of said story.
Also no, I think given that WoW has a huge problem with it’s important plot beats being too heavily spread out across different forms of media - be it in short stories, comics, or novels or lore bibles with a price tag on them - having the majority of the plot be contained within the game itself (that everyone pays a monthly sub fee to experience) is a good thing, even if it means some quests are overly verbose. The game is rated T for teen, which means that the players should be at least 13 and therefore able to read.

Ty I’m not necessarily looking to change it.
Different issue, but in modern gameplay I feel like there’s content for grandmas that is mindlessly easy, then there is mythic raiding and one of the reasons for WoW classic’s success is the game appealed to a good middle ground, the average gamer.
I feel like the story has the same problem sometimes. It’s either do the lore nerd thing or just skip it all. For me personally it’s stuff like enjoying the centaurs and the aesthetic but still reading tons of paragraphs about nothing but hunting clefthoofs or whatever along the way.
There might not be as many people like me, in that middle area for story but then again there might be. Probably hard to tell on this forum I guess. I definitely agree its better in the game than random books. There’s ways around it with addons and stuff that help a lot absorbing the dialogue nowadays I suppose.
If anything I wish we had more voiced quests as well as the option to talk to the quests and NPC’s and get even more information.

Idk, I am slowly playing classic when i can, and there there is just the same ammount of text, and you have to pay attention because no quest markers.
But I like reading quest text when it is some story development.
