Just a trust building exercise. Just to see if we can actually come together and… resists urge to vomit cooperate…
Ok about to make you vomit all over your desk. Maybe even make you poop your pants a bit. We’ll see.
In XIV there’s a city called Revenant’s Toll. It’s considered the city of Adventurers, not bound by the politics of the world, where adventurers can call home in between their journey. It’s used as the base of operations for the player character and their faction, Scions of the Seventh Dawn. So far, no matter the questline or what have you, the player will eventually be led back there to wrap things up.
In my opinion, it would greatly benefit Blizzard to develop a location similar; a city of adventurers and like minded folks can settle, beyond the bounds of the factions and whatever major quest hub we stay in, one that would be a narrative base of operations. For a while in the past, I was very vocal about having adventurers carve out the Sword in Silithus and turn that into a cool vertical city, under a new faction called “Defenders of Azeroth” or some nonsense.
Very unlikely but, would be interesting.
Thing is, XIV is not Warcraft. What happens in that universe does not affect this one. That said, I… guess… even though the Horde are filled with a bunch of monsters who should be exterminated for the glory of humanity!
cough
Remember your exercises Gavrion. Other wise that cursed Therapist will get on your case again.
Anyway, I guess turning the symbol of the enemy into a symbol of unity would be… fine.
Stormgrimmar
All white and shiny but with spikes
So…Bastion?
Fun fact…Anduin didn’t stab the Archon because he was possessed… he stabbed her because Anduin has a phobia of bells after MoP and the Divine Bell was dropped on him crushing his poor kid body and the constant bell tolling in Bastion triggered his insanity fueled PTSD.
Orgwind… ?
Why? We have plenty of cities that are joint as it is.
Yes… but none that were jointly build by both Alliance and Horde.
oh ya call it orgriwind or stormar something sik nast like that
Ima be honest here. WoW’s faction conflict is IMO is a pivotal narrative driver for the WC story. Any attempt to do away with it always comes off feeling extremely disingenuous and feel good and the WC universe is anything but feel-good. It’s build on bodies and horrors and tragedies. WC for the longest time has been like… fun and whimsical to play, and you read the quest text or really dig into the stakes before some events in stuff Pre-DF and find that the world is mostly horrifying. People always make comments about how the faction war is tired and I agree. Using the faction war as a STORY is very boring and tired. But it should ALWAYS be present as a narrative driver in WoW, imo for consistency. Should horde and alliance be able to party together for their individual exploits? 100%. If the story heroes can collab like Jaina and Thrall then so should we. But IMO, having neutral cities like Dalaran is fun, right? but even that city is segregated. It adds mythos. There’s a place in Dal I CANNOT see as alliance and I think that’s pretty cool. I like the idea of places in a big expansive world that I am not allowed to go to, or if I go there then it’s a fight for my life. If you take that away, I worry that every city would become pretty same-y.
I feel like a trust fall would go badly if we went with that
So many alliance races would just be smooshed
Ok so how about this. They’re going to FINALLY make Gilneas a useable city and it’s so close to Undercity, so how about in between them the Horde and Alliance build a trading town.
So, Deadwood?
I mean, I guess. I was kind of more banking on Humans and Orcs doing something but I guess Worgen and Undead being neighbors and all.
I miss the old days when I could just smash an Orc’s face in with a Hammer and it’d be perfectly acceptable.
Ooooo, idea for Halloween The Macabre Masquerade this year! Is Raven Hill Neutral? We could have Worgen and Forsaken in attendance!
Honestly it’s strange Worgen and Undead aren’t allies considering both are cursed humans. Could have had a Halloween themed faction and all that. But nooooo, Alliance needed a big scarwy monster race.
Yes! The Elves can provide building materials, the Horde will do labor. I already have a great name for it
Elf Bone Citadel.
UwU? Forgive me daddy…I’ve sinned alot.
I mean, if you think about it, we basically did exactly that already, with the world tree. It took our combined efforts to save it from Fyrakk and help sow its seeds in the Emerald Dream. The last patch has been all about us coming together to make a town.
The actual town will be live and in operation after todays patch and both Alliance and Horde will be able to visit it, but I believe only Alliance will have portals there.
Honestly when they blow up Azeroth at the end of the 3 part Saga because the core is already compromised, and we all relocate as refugees to the new world, I’m sure there will be co-mingle citys. Then only way to see azeroth will be through a type of chromie time portal. You hear me devs we know just lean in to it.
