I tried a trial 110 female worgen frost mage and I love the way she looks in transmog. I am thinking of trying to start leveling one only thing is its going to take me forever with all the lag in the starting zone of worgens but was wondering how everyone feels about a worgen frost mage . are they pretty strong ? is worgen a good choice for a frost mage ?
At this point racials are negligible when it comes to making decisions based on class. If you like the way a worgen frost mage looks go with it! It comes down to aesthetics more than anything else unless you’re in the 1% of the playerbase that does mythic content.
The differences between Worgen and the best races in terms of DPS is going to be more or less 1% total DPS. So once you’re geared, around 300-600 DPS depending on the chosen race/spec. This is equivalent to one very nice Titanforge on your gear in practical terms, but won’t make or break anything in most content.
Think the only benefit is Worgen’s get 1% crit don’t they?
If you go online, the top races for dps output for mages on Alliance are Void Elf, Gnome, and Human.
Go for it! Female worgen are going to look amazing come 8.2.5, so I think it’ll be well worth it.
Also, don’t worry about racials unless you’re doing extreme min/maxing. I doubt that a lightforged mage is the most ideal thing ever, but I don’t care because I RP and I like the aesthetic.
