Please make gearing like wod again. I have to unsub only because I pvp. Sad to see all these boostings, 2500 geared players in 1600 RBGs, 1 shots in arenas in low brackets. Something needs to change. Good bye for now.
Agreed, the seller are back, the new restrictions did not wipe them away, rather cause inconvenience for true pvp players.
Now the gear system is improved, but the played pvp game numbers for the last 3 days since 9.1.5 launch shows it failed to bring pvp players back. The true thing that propel people away except for the gear is that they cannot make a logical game. like how a AOE spell crane kick can wipe the whole enemy team in 1 sec, even they want to make WW op, pick another spell, how can warrior shattering throw clean all my shield and do 80-100k damage in 1.5 sec ( I have the screenshot) ? The one shot meta is really the worst among all expansions.

Listen man, WoD was a nightmare just as much as it was here. One-shots were just worse back then. Compare this to wod…and you’ll see how much nicer it was.
If you really wanna talk about peak pvp…Legion had AMAZING PvP. In BG’s everything was smoothened out to equal levels to the point where it was just based on skilland many many one shots weren’t around, people just hit hard, EVERYONE hit hard.

I liked WoD pvp was fun but I was really bad and didn’t do arena other than for gear, so my opinion is worth a bit less
I thought WoD gameplay was bad but not for the reasons you listed, you’re talking about MoP here mostly
Wrong xpac bro lol, no1was playing MM in WoD or Destro. Feral bleeds did nothing in WoD, only bites were good so you have to be thinking about MoP when both were strong
Also the other half of your numbers just actually never happened unless you’re talking about legion health pools or something

His post sounded more like he was saying gearing/scaling was the peak, didn’t mention much about balance or game play.
SL S1 was the all time pvp participant high was it not? PVE players need an incentive to PVP or PVP will stay dead.
If they gave DKs back the busted wotlk season 1 dnd fear right now I don’t even think it would feel broken. That’s how borked pvp is.

I think the peak of PvP was 8.3 in BfA, with this season of Shadowlands being a very close second!

What you could’ve said is, atleast in wod, classes were fun. (With few exceptions, like combat rogue, we all know why.)
From my PoV, ret hasnt been fun to play since the Legion redesign. WoD Ret with Empowered Seals was amazingly fun to play.
WOD was the closest to “right” Blizz has gotten PVP. Even with the racial buff incentive for Alliance we had reasonable queue times and LOTS of players. LOTS OF PLAYERS IN PVP, so much so that even Horde had 1-3 minute queues for SPECIFIC AV queues. Give us FULL PREMADE BGS, like recently given to TBC Classic, would bring back at least 95% of the unsubs since Legion dropped which are (pun intended) LEGION. Get a clue finally, Blizz. Maybe WOW was originally a “dungeons and dragons” theme but it is really PVP that is the bread and butter of this game. We are running out of bread and butter. Bring back PVP and you will bring back WOW.
Still, “best” is subjective, whereas player participation is objective.
Objectively, PVP was the easiest way to gear up for PVE at launch.

I’ve already stated, unless PVE players have incentive to PVP, it’ll be our dead minigame forever. Objectively, of course.
That’s why SL S1 was a huge success, because the PVP pop tripled to a whopping 24% of players.
You can say it, but it does not mean it is true.
The only reference to PVP and PVE participation I have seen (MoP/WoD) was Holinka stating that participation was equally high for both activities.
This was during expansions where PVP was largely considered the best it has ever been (for PVPrs). MoP for the class designs and WoD for the gearing.
So objectively, if you make PVP great for people who like PVP, more people will PVP.
The fact that is has become a “dead mini game”, is because of everything that has happened since WoD in terms of systems and gearing for PVP. I.e., trying to make PVP cater to the PVE crowd.

I honestly think SL is the closest they have gotten to “right” for PvP.
There is a ton of comp diversity this expansion.
