With you guys bringing forward WoD buffs and nerfs for class balancing. Is there any way we could get the WoD raid system to where we can kill bosses multiple times a week per character but only receive loot off of our first kill?
I personally feel that system is the best and should’ve been implemented back in WoTLK. Other’s may like the current Cata system (which is what we’ll have in MoP) but I don’t see the downside to allowing people who wish to run multiple raids a week on the same character.
I understand it wouldn’t be the easiest thing to achieve but was more so thinking about the player base as a whole for people who only have time for 1 character with IRL obligations to be able to raid multiple times a week on said character.
As for your explanation for the 6.0 balancing being better then 5.4 (in those specific instances), I understand that with the inflated stats at the end of an expansion some specs are wonky but what I was claiming (with the whole buff/nerf statement) is if they’re willing to pull some of the balancing forward, then could we possibly get the (IMO) better/more player friendly, raid system earlier.
Frankly, I don’t think the game should cater to people who don’t have time to play it.
That said, if you have time to raid multiple times, I don’t see how appealing to “people who only have time for” applies. Your reasoning seems flawed.
I actually agree it’s better. I just think the distinction Blizzard has made is class balancing versus systemic changes.
They insisted that vanilla was #nochanges, but it objectively wasn’t. They’ve slowly but steadily increased what is considered an acceptable change in Classic, only just now reaching class balancing in MoP.
And the benefits of this particular system are minimal, at best. It allows players like myself to continue running raids just for the sake of it, maybe filling raids that’d otherwise not happen. I just don’t think there’s a huge demand for that sort of thing.
“Ok masta Michaelrosen, I shall go to retail because you demanded it…” smh
I make my income from playing/streaming this game and several others over the past decade, so I have nothing but time to invest in this game. I was expressing, in my opinion, that it would be a better raid lockout system for the classic community… guess opinions or ideas to potentially make the game more enjoyable or better suited, for the vast player base, can not be expressed on the forums lol.
Nah the 3 guilds my locks are in do LC and haven’t sold runs. I got no issues waiting until it drops, just had an idea and thought I’d gauge others interest in it. Obviously several of you don’t want it and that’s fine. I’ll wait until SoO, WoD or the pre patch (when ever it was originally introduced)
Similarly to how they brought the transmog and collections tab forward. It’d probably take some more time and effort for the raid system but is still doable to bring flexible raiding to Normal and then heroic after several weeks or wait until SoO when mythic drops (no mythic until SoO). They could do this by removing raid lockouts and make it to where each character can only receive each bosses loot once per week but are able to kill bosses multiple times to help out casual/alt guild runs, pugs or just out of boredom to go and try to parse chase. Idk figured it’d be helpful because it seems since week 8-10 of DS (prior raids as well) people are constantly having absences and this would free people up to assist with their mains, if people wanted to help.
Doubt it’ll happen, was just a thought. I’ll wait until the system originally drops.
I think this is a great idea for normal mode especially since there’s no lfr.
There’s a major issue with it being on the highest difficulty.
For one, people care a lot about guild rankings, and your system would allow a group of top players with the best gear go around selling mercenary services which has been a huge issue in arenas.
Secondly, I know that ultra hc guilds already run splits to funnel gear, but your system would make it so each person only really needs 1 alt and they would just rerun the raid over and over with the same toons swapping in 2-3 people each time to funnel gear.
