WoD daily quest progress not showing

I accepted Assault on the Pit from my garrison command table. I completed about 50% and then logged out while still in the zone. When I logged back in I was dead and instantly disconnected. I was able to log in on other characters, but got an instant d/c every time I logged in on this character. After about 8 attempts I finally was at the graveyard and able to run back to my corpse.

But now the quest progress for Assault on the Pit is no longer showing. I tried hearthing to my garrison and taking a taxi back but when I enter the area I do not get a notice that the objective has started and I do not seem to be getting any quest progress for killing applicable mobs.

The blue circle still shows on the map for Assault on the Pit and it is still in my quest log. I did a /reload several times. The only addon I have is TomTom. I don’t want to abandon it and start over because I was already at about 50% complete and it was challenging for me to get that far.

About the only thing I can think of that you didn’t mention was logging out and back in. (I’d try this at the Garrison so you don’t get a repeat of what started this.)

You can also try a UI reset, but when I’ve had objectives bug out as you’ve described, relogging usually seems to fix it.

Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I did actually log out and back in several times after my disconnect issue was resolved.

So I went to work, am now back 10 hours later, rebooted the computer, and did the UI reset as suggested. Still have the same issue. Tried the second part of the UI reset instruction for if you “still encounter issues” and apparently I don’t have the Virtual Store directory.

The quest is in my log, there is a blue shape on the map where the quest zone is. There are piles of cannonballs that you pick up to progress with the quest and it won’t let me interact with them.

Edit: I’m just going to abandon the quest and restart it. If the problem persists I’ll edit again.

Edit again: after I abandoned the quest and picked it up again, it was working fine and I had 44% progress already. I remembered having gotten above 50% before my issues but I could have been mistaken and at any rate 44% was great to have. I finished it without having lost much (if anything) from my issue.

Yeah, the next step I would have suggested was abandoning it, but knew you wanted that as a last resort. Thanks for posting that it looks like the progress was saved (or at least most of it.) If anyone has a similar issue in the future, being able to let them know that they may not lose progress if they abandon will be very helpful.
