I’ve been having pretty choppy gameplay the past week and I finally figured out why but I don’t have a fix. I did post in the tech forums but I haven’t gotten a reply and it’s been six hours so far.
WMI Provider Host is using too much CPU (10-20%) because of the NVIDIA Containers causing problems which I checked in the event viewer. Anyone else having this issue? Closing/restarts does nothing. Not quite sure what else to try.
Uninstalling GeForce Experience resolves the container issue for most people. There are also some telemetry scheduled tasks that some people disable as well.
Edit: Some say that if just uninstalling GeForce Experience doesn’t fix the issue, running a clean install of the latest drivers and unchecking everything but the base driver may. In either case it’s best to restart your system afterward.
I’ll give those two options a try and see how things go. Thank you for the tips
Edit: None of that helped, unfortunately. The WMI went to like 45% CPU usage this morning and crashed my game.
