Without GDKP, raiding is pointless

I would rather you not raid, than have gdkps back

There was more bots with GDKP than without.
GDKP created a demand for RMT so they banned it in SoD as a test to see exactly how much it impacts the game.

Clearly they got results or Anni wouldn’t have the same ban.

Giving up? Hmm. Can I have your gold? Keep the stuff, I have plenty.

wait, you dont get vendor trash to sell???

also, what do you need gold for? If its consumes then join a guild that doesnt require it. Isn’t that what gdkp supporters say about joining your raid of preference?

Hundreds of thousands, lmao

Still haven’t seen an answer to this.

Character progression and hanging with the homies.

The same reason gdkp was invented.

No, GDKP was invited because of player greed so that people didn’t feel like they “got nothing” from doing a raid.

One day you will have a toon that needs nothing from a raid, and it will finally click.

That’s definitely your opinion of it.

Its wrong but it’s your opinion

I’ve had a char that needs nothing from a raid/dungeon, yet I still ran them for the enjoyment of the content. I guess I’m in a minority there.

Imagine helping people that aren’t your character ever, or playing a character that isn’t just your main.

Why would someone that only wants to be rich play this game? Go play a tycoon game or something lmao.

If you don’t enjoy the raiding part of raiding, then you shouldn’t be raiding.

i dunno why people hate on gdkp that much.
if blizzard is banning bots and gold buying then Gdkp will be great.

if you can obtain gold by w/e method, some people like to obtain gold through running raid for cut, also if if you hate gdkp because you see people buying gear with gold? then lol because everything in wow can be bought with gold anyway, if it’s crafted gear or epic boe or certain dung/raid item which you can buy boost service for and this is legit gameplay

i wasn’t pro gdkp but i never wanted it to be banned, Blizzard should ban GOLD buyers and gold sellers and bots instead of banning gdkp.

then go play something else like fortnight

  1. GDKP running RLs and MTs eventually started selling gold at wholesale rates to gold websites after having ridiculous amounts of gold.
  2. Pot gold distributed from buyers to carries and RLs / MTs inflated the cost of consumes for everyone, not just those doing GDKPs.
  3. Rampant paid boosting subverted levelling and GDKPs subverted raiding guilds, the core social structure in wow for the last 20 years
  4. The insatiable demand for gold from the demand for inflated consumes, GDKP gear and boosts spurred a massive influx of botting
  5. Once people started to gear out and get into carrying for GDKP raids, raids started to have an implicit gold / hour reward. This meant that normal raid events such as delays, wipes and deaths started to have an implicit gold/hour cost and not just be seen as an integral part of the game. This spurred more friction.

Ultimately, like botting, multiboxing and twinking, people who love GDKPs are upset because to their minds they are providing a valuable service / fulfilling an important need / just having harmless fun. They can’t see or don’t want to see that their fun has negative consequences for others.

This is just flat out wrong. Gold inflates because classic has NO gold sink. It just accumulates endlessly and mats inflate regardless of gdkps. It already costs 200-300g just to have proper consumes for a MC run.

Second, AH costs inflate because WoW has a totally unregulated market. Anyone who’s played long enough has watched items be bought up wholesale on the market then reposted for 2-3x the cost. This is already happening on Fresh with no GDKPs.

People who don’t like GDKPs are almost always people who haven’t been playing classic consistently long term. They have some romanticized view of the game that’s out of touch with reality. You can’t get people to consistently show up for 40 man raids once they are fully geared.

But this whole discussion doesn’t matter. The result will be obvious in a few years.

Paid boosts are a way to skip one of the core aspects of the game, levelling and GDKPs are a way to skip another core aspect of the game, waiting (sometimes for a long time) to get your drops and win the roll. Whatever inflation naturally is or would be, there is an influx of raw botted gold from 24x7 bots swarming instances, responding to the demand for gold to pay for boosts and GDKPs, thereby causing more inflation than if boosting and GDKPs were banned.

You sometimes can’t get 40 people to show up for raid even when they’re not geared. So what else is new? The toughest boss in wow is the roster boss, everyone knows or should know this. So what if people stop playing for whatever reason? You telling me that no GDKPers quit once they have bis? And if GDKPers can wax eloquent about the camaraderie and good times when they’re in a discord full of people just like them, you don’t think some people who are in a guild they enjoy raiding with will tend to keep playing for … fun?

So, basically if you don’t like swipers and what they do with their bought gold you are out of touch with reality. GOOD ONE BWHAHAHAHAAAAAA!
