Wouldn’t it be great if we could get an LGB character into the lore?
I think we should add some more inclusion here. Perfect time to do it while this kind of hype is in style. You could write a new character in Shadowlands(hopefully written well) and not just a “check-list” type thing.
There is a lesbian couples in the game NPCs Enchantress Ilanya and Priestess Driana are supposedly together and then there are those two Goblin ladies you catch going on a date when you’re saving Baine.
They can hardly keep their canonical integrity with characters that they already have. How in the world do you expect them to ALSO satisfy diversity without making it forced, hammy, or offensive? As much as I’d love to see it, it would literally be surface-level at best and offensive at worst.
As a gay man myself, why is this needed? It’s the same issue I had with Overwatch making Tracer and Soldier 76 LGBT, it was just so thrown in there. I don’t care that the characters are gay, but love stories are something seldom followed in WoW. A character’s sexuality is the last thing I look at in an MMO.
There’s already a few such characters.
It’s just that their sexuality isn’t their entire personality or character.
I find my favorite characters who are gay/lesbian/bisexual just happen to be and it isn’t the central focus of who they are.
Just like in real life I doubt most people are only their sexuality.
If you have to ask for it, then it’s forced and not worth having. Accurate representation is far more important than throwing in LGBT characters just to fill a quota…
What about all the MF and ACD people and all the X people and Z people and R people and EJK people and never forget the TY people. Don’t exclude anyone. Post is flagged.
We’ve got Classic, no salt, caramel, cheese, chili, gulten free and with you’re choice of butters. Stop on by!
And no need to worry about the Guards either! They’ve been given a good pep talk (and a hefty tax free bonus) by my wonderful Goblins friends! Stop on by now!
*OOC, for some reason I reread that in Alastor’s voice.
I feel like those characters are already in WoW, and that perhaps it’s simply a matter of a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy that’s in effect. Or maybe, they just don’t want to flaunt it. I dunno. Just my thoughts.
There already are gay/lesbian characters in the game. You just have to pay close attention. Blizzard doesn’t and shouldn’t have to put a spotlight on them, they are treated like everyone else as should should be.
