They gave us a LFG feature to make our group finding experience easier and more enjoyable, now give us enchanting vellums to make our shoppy shop easier and more enjoyable. Spamming “LF 2H int enchant” over and over is not fun.
Subjective opinion, but that’s probably the single most fun thing for me about Era, actually, and was exactly what I remember (fondly) about OG Vanilla - but for me, forming groups, meeting people, and community building has always been what I like most about the old game.
I’m not saying “you’re wrong” by the way, nor am I upset that we may have a difference of opinion, nor do I wish to call you any names or take away any of your rights to your own opinions and preferences, I’m just pointing out that that’s all they are: subjective opinions and preferences.
And who knows, maybe they will add vellums for Anniversary Realms.
How would having velums on the AH prevent you from doing that?
The reality is most people just respond to someone spamming an en chanting macro in trade chat usually backed up by some add on anyways, there’s no meaningful interaction here.
Before you know it there will be that one person, with every enchant in the game, that somehow never leaves the main city and is always available 24/7.
Sorry, but this doesn’t feel like vanilla. Not even close…
The community was much better during actual vanilla.
*People actually played the game as it was intended to be played. (As a true social game.)
*The smaller servers made this extremely easy.
*There wasn’t layering
*There wasn’t LFG
*AH gold costs were not crazy
*most players didn’t min/max
*no one followed streamers
*there was ALWAYS a constant flow of new players.
*Guilds felt like a 2nd family
*It was still just a game and not a job
*You could make a mistake and not be black listed.
*There were no boost runs
*Gdkp didn’t have to be banned because it wasn’t a thing.
*Players actively grouped up to do elite quests.
*Servers never got to be 99.9% of one faction because everyoje followed the streamers.
*Grass didn’t move when i ran through it
*People were less toxic because you couldn’t name change. So your actions stayed with you.
*You didn’t need to have every single raid fight and mechanics memorized to even be allowed to try.
*BIS gear wasn’t required to do raids
*There were way more pugs
*Dual spec is on the table, there was none of that.
*Classes didn’t get black listed from groups and raids simply because their class or spec were not able to hit maximum peak efficiency numbers.
*People didn’t expect 15g a pop as a tip for doing something.
*mage spamming chat selling ports for gold wasn’t a thing.
*warlocks spamming chat selling summons for gold wasn’t a thing.
*speed runs were not a thing.
*I didn’t have to have my environment setting set to the minimum so i could see herb plants on the ground.
Why doesn’t it feel the same? Because this isn’t vanilla. We have all grown and actually learned how to play the game. Why do you think fights got more complex as time went on? The players got better as there was more access to information on how things worked. Vanilla was never intended for players to be Esport pros. That’s why most of the community was still working on older raids and never experienced Nax.
