Because that would also mean that they would now have to be grouped if you want to get transmogs and mounts and pets from these older instances?
If you can solo it now you can solo it after the squish. Old raids will cap at 50.

Those 10 extra levels at 60 would make them completely soloable?
All old content will cap at 50 and presumably have the legacy buff applied. If you can solo it now you’ll solo it just the same at the new cap. Some bosses may need tweaking due to certain mechanics making them impossible to solo, like how they had to tweak the first boss in hfc, blast furnace in mythic brf so you no longer need a mind control or bribe, etc.

nothing is changing its just a level squish our power and stats will only seem different but its still the same as before only smaller numbers
When you hit level 50 that content gets scaled down, so you’ll be able to overpower it just like now.
This was my biggest concern going forward tbh. Hopefully they stick to the plan and allow us to solo them. A level/stat squish will have some growing pains, obviously, but they are usually pretty decent at addressing old raid tweaks.
I don’t understand how people keep thinking things like this. Same exact statements/questions came up for stat squishes too.
Like, if you get it in your head, I don’t blame you for asking. it would be a huge deal if they were breaking soloing old content, I just don’t get how it gets in your head in the first place.
Well, knowing Blizzard, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if they decided to break old content just to drag things out longer. So yeah, I can’t really blame people for asking.

They might get the balance a bit off but the intent is nothing should change.
Old content only scales with your level while you are leveling. As soon as you hit 50, all “old” content other than BFA will scale back down to their adjusted levels.
So since 120 will become 50, let us assume that:
Vanilla will cap out at (50/120)*60 = 25
TBC & Wrath will cap out at (50/120)*80 = 33.33333333333… So let us say 33
Cata & MoP will cap out at (50/120)*90 = 37.5, so let us say 38.
WoD will cap out at (50/120)*100 = 41.66666666… So let us say 42
Legion will cap out at (50/120)*110 = 45.83333333… So let us say 46
That is also assuming that TBC and Cata will still “cap” at wrath & MoP levels respectively as they do now. Or if they will be revented back to the original caps (70 and 85), just adjusted for shadowlands leveling.
So that would be 29.166666666… (lets say 29) and 35.416666666… (so lets say 35) respectively.
Wait a minute, if old raids are all scaled to 50 doesnt’ this mean Legacy Loot is going to be F.U.CK.E.D all next expansion? you know cause it requires 11 LEVELS difference.
Unless it gets changed to 10 instead of 11 we are going to be stuck with a far less than optimal system. If it is indeed only the 120 raids (since 120 is going to be 50) and older raids are going to be lower level than that then all should be fine. I just take everything Blizzard says with a few grains of salt.

The only raids that will be level 50 will be the ones in BfA. All others will have lower levels.
Theoretically you will be able to. We’ll see how well executed it all is.
yes. did you think they would just cut 60 levels off our toons right at the knee, nix all talents and build options for our toons, and just leave us like that?

power relative to given content will stay the same, if not skew even more towards our toons being able to solo old stuff even more easily. you’ll probably be able to solo motlen core by the mid 20s levels if not sooner.
Well…they have done some pretty dang stupid things lately…I understand wanting to see it in writing from several blue sources.
