I’m gonna make a new alt and I want to know if I can solo dungeons and if I can how many can I solo
Ahhh maybe, but slowly. I can’t imagine any of the classes being able to blow through those, the bosses have a good bit of health.
Heirlooms aren’t that powerful, in full dungeon/quest blues you’d be able to as a tank or healer, but it would still be slow.
With Heirlooms you’d probably die quickly unless you could somehow pull things one by one.
No. Heirlooms are only as powerful as your level. IF you out level the dungeon by the necessary margin but that’s only because you are X level with Y equivalent gear.
Sort of good to point out as well that most of the dungeon gear has better stats than the heirlooms I have. Granted I haven’t done upgrades on them I am not sure if that does anything to the stats.
I’d say yes. I soloed RFC at lvl 16 with full heirloom gear as a warlock - dps- Reset and ran it again a few times till I reached lvl20 then I went on to WC till I got to lvl25 then SFK (this was way before the 100% exp bonus) With dungeons now leveling with you up to lvl60 (?) pick one you like and run it repeatedly, you’ll get to lvl60 pretty quick. Higher lvl dungeons I don’t know, once I got flying I mostly ran with the dungeon finder.
But yes, it’s slow going, make sure you only pull one or two at a time.
Not that I am aware of. Heirlooms are decent stat-wise, but they aren’t overpowered for the bracket you are currently in. In fact I think they may even be subpar as you get closer to the level cap.
When was this?
I used to do that during Legion pre-level scaling.
As a new player I managed to solo RFC at level 28 at the end of MoP. During the first half of Legion, leveling was very nerfed, and I was able to solo it on a Guardian at level 16. I actually soloed a lot of dungeons back then, starting at a few levels over. I did WC at 21, Magister’s Terrace starting at 72 until 75 when I would be soloing heroic.
Then they announced that leveling had broken itself and had to be made much harder, because new players weren’t joining because leveling wasn’t really hard.
Now dungeons are scaled. As was pointed out above, blue dungeon gear is better than heirlooms.
I’d like to see a video of somebody speed running RFC in heirlooms at level 16 now. I’m just going to say from my experience that “Video or it didn’t happen.”
BfA is the only expansion where heirlooms have a higher ilvl than dungeon drops.
My extensive experience with soloing dungeons made me realize that RFC has level scaling in Classic.
Really? I could have sworn as I was leveling the greens that quests were giving were better. Not tremendously but better stat-wise.
Maybe I am misremembering.
Only with certain classes, probably hunter and warlock are the quickest, disc priest but only at a high enough level to have most spells, and then tanks.
If you haven’t already it’s a good idea to enchant your heirlooms, adds quite a bit and you can mail the enchanted set around to new alts so you only need to enchant a set of each armor type once.
I think that generally the best heirloom enchants are MoP inscription shoulder, MoP lw or tailoring pants, current BfA ring enchants, Cata chest, WoD cloak, Elemental Force wep, and I usually keep a bunch of Cata run speed to shoes enchants and reapply every time I get better shoes since they only cost 2 dust to make.
but even so, imo it’s not worth it at all unless you are just doing it for the challenge. It’s not time efficient at all, super slow tbh.
Currently in BfA quest greens are the same ilvl as dungeon drops, 217 at 111, 273 at 119. In earlier expansions quest greens<heirlooms<dungeon drops.
They nerfed heirlooms a while ago so that they’re not really any better than blues and greens you would normally find other than that they give the xp bonus and scale with your level. Some classes are definitely super strong and could solo dungeons but I can’t imagine its more efficient than just questing/queing up.
When leveling as horde I used to always get to lvl 10, get my spec, and go solo RFC and get to lvl 15 in 1 run instead of questing those 5 levels. Then start queuing with groups.
I’m pretty sure dungeons are harder now though
Before level scaling and the removal of the end bonus for completion of the dungeon, it was a great way to level. I guess we were just a bunch of degenerates for doing leveling challenges instead of the same boring fetch quests as devs never do themselves.
I think you will be able to on certain classes, as classes tend to be very imbalanced before hitting max level.
I remember in legion, survival hunters were doing like 2-3x the damage of other classes while I was leveling. Certain talents and whatnot aren’t really balanced on these levels, because they’re balanced at max level instead.
I’m not sure what it’s like now or what it will be like in SL, or what classes / talents won’t be tuned right for low levels, but it always happens.
We will find out next week.
But on low level characters, and the first set of dungeons were not really designed with a full set of heirlooms in mind. You have slots that are not normally filled with heirlooms: head, shoulder, neck, trinkets. Not so much as you get past level 40 and on.
Make a video of your wipes!
Prot paladin forsure you can.
Ok, so I was wrong.
It has been a long time since I tried any lower lvl dungeons, so I ran a panda monk to lvl25 and ran into rfc hahahahaha nope. Doesn’t work any more.
I guess the lvl scaling put an end to that? not sure. But just running quests I got to lvl60 in a matter of hours. Running the dungeons with a group would probably make it go even quicker.
Early on… maybe as a tank spec; it’ll quickly get out of hand later on. Heirlooms are most effective sub-40 today (maybe 15-20 on the 13th).
