Since you guys cannot obviously control the RMT and gold farming bots anymore on classic and sod servers,
You might as well add the token to the shop for these versions. Because a random out of the blue post that isn’t even on the wow forums but the blizzard generals, kind of shows just how bad it really is.
I know a lot of people hate the token because it made gold making obsolete. But honestly, you want these bots gone? Kind of have to do something drastic.
Bots would be gone if people stopped buying from them
As everyone knows, botting entirely stopped when Blizzard added the WoW token. Yep. Definitely
Ban buyers then.
And im not talking about a small little 2 week or something no like 6+ months and all gear is gone from characters
People still buy gold from 3rd parties for retail. Not sure what’s up with people thinking the token killed the practice, all it did was give Blizzard a cut lol.
They do, and then buyers complain that they got banned. So they change their rules to curb buying further and then people complain about that too and that’s where we are now
I like my idea if they are caught thier character is stripped of all gear.

Stripped of all gear and gold on the entire account, removed from guild, banks emptied, and characters tossed naked out in the middle of Vashj’ir. Hearthstone (including the toys) disabled until you set it at an inn, and can’t interact with other players or join a guild for like 30 days.
Make them REALLY want that account back.
Stop buying gold. And stop listening to people when they complain they were “wrongly banned” for buying gold.
And make gold buying socially unacceptable. If someone in your guild brags about buying gold, kick them.
What if it was found this was done incorrectly and they get it overturned. Do they get double the gold instead?
Sure, why not.
The gold transaction stuff is pretty trackable as far as this RMT stuff goes. If you’re trading with an account that’s been flagged for RMT. The denominations of currency are always weirdly linear since the sites sell by “x gold per $1”. The gold sellers are usually clustered on similar realms. And those accounts do multiple of those trades. It’s safe to say you’re involved if those line up.
Also, unless you’re a streamer, you’ve got better odds winning the Powerball than them admitting fault and overturning any ban.
We should scrub them fully from the database to free up the names…
I think I would actually raid again on Classic if it had a token. The economy is too cracked out even for me, RTV and lotus are non existent and I don’t have time to camp the nodes for 6 hours a day like when it was quarantine.
COVID gassed up Blizzard I think, people aren’t spending that much time in the game anymore, people are becoming more Retailified, it has to do with lack of time. If we all had time to play 12 hours a day this would be different.
We get away with so much. No one even questions the Stockholm syndrome my goat crafters suffer from. All they see is a blue dragon, standing on two feet, wearing a giant cod piece and look the other way.
If they don’t look the other way, I lift up the cod piece so they can take in the smooth.
