With everyone going on about what got nerfed and how their spec is garbage now, I have a question: what is the best specialization for rogue now, particularly for open world content?
I’ve been Combat/Outlaw since forever, though I tried Sub during BfA. I didn’t like it much. Never really tried Assassination.
Well for the context that you’re looking for it’s definitely Sin because you get instant energy return when anything dies with your Rupture on it. The current iteration of Outlaw cannot even function in world content at a base level because of the reliance of needing to always have Adrenaline Rush active and you need to actively use Vanish which you cannot do even in Delves because if you’re solo you just reset the mobs when you press it.
I don’t do Outlaw, so I can’t comment on it.
However, for open world content, Sub or Sin will do fine. I tried both on beta and was able to do my quests and delves without issue.
For open world content I would have to recommend Sub just because of the consistent burst and also the much higher self healing (if you are going after a tough elite or something).
It is a good point though that assass gets energy back with each kill, but I haven’t found that sub has energy problems in open world either.
I’m not sure what is was about Sub I didn’t like when I tried it, but I preferred Outlaw over that. Until recently, that is. I’ll be switching to Sin shortly. I just hope I can get my 480 daggers maxed by then. I’m practically out of flightstones and quests to get them.
