Is it against lore to RP a fire mage, with gothic or a witch like wardrobe/personality?
I don’t see why it would be lore breaking. To me it just seems like wardrobe choice.
What?
No, it’s not. Why would it be?
Even witches like the witch-witch of Drustvar can still use fire magic. You know the whole “Fire burn and cauldron bubble” thing.
You could be a witch of summer, a witch of the hearth, a witch of rebirth, a witch of cooking, or just a witch of the flame. It worked for druids, somehow.
If it bugs you, remember that spells and abilities just look a certain way. You can describe them however you want. Is Dragon’s Breath Alexestrasza’s fury, or the disorienting ashes from a hearth? Are you using the regimented spell to create mage portals, or tapping into the desire we all have to go home to a cheerful hearth? Are you using Meteor, or are you playing Fire Mage wrong?
Ultimately, choose however you wish which witch is which.
This is by far the most inoffensive question on whether or not its okay to RP as something. By all means. Go for it.
You guys are wonderful, thank you!
There is a lore-abiding gnome out there that is a direct reference to Link from the Legend of Zelda.
Canon.
Goth Fire Mage is fine.
