Couldn’t find a ingame system to use. I was told its not normal to be able to mount while falling.
You can click the broom to mount it and cast a spell and switch back to the broom but its risky and i died a lot.
You can also click to mount the broom, while in the air click to mount your flying mount and once on the flying mount you cast a spell and get kicked off your mount so you just hop on the broom and repeat and you can stay in the air casting spells and floating there for a while if you get really fast with t he mouse. I imagine someone good with keybinds or macros could do it really quickly
There is only one broom.
I don’t know anything about the casting part (or it may be some sort of a hack or exploit I’m unaware of - and if that’s the case you want to steer clear of it lest you find yourself on a vacation from the game), but you are able to use the insta-cast part while you’re falling.
The seasonal Magic Broom is the only mount in the game, IIRC, that is instant-cast. This makes it very similar to Druid flight form in execution.
This seasonal mount also disappears when Hallow’s End is over. Enjoy the insta-mount while you can! =)

It’s been like this for many years. Working as intended.
