Wishlist for dh in wowhead

Hey guys, what are your feelings in this wishlist? Think if these additional sigils and spells were added from bfa/SL will give us a spec in DF that everyone will enjoy?

I see some things I like, some I dont.

Class Tree

  • Sigils for havoc? I’ll pass.
Havoc is Fel rushing and Fel Bladeing around a lot. Very mobile. Sigils are slow to act. Sigils really feel more inline/Intune with tanking and should stay with tanking only.
  • Darkness
I included this initially, but the more I thought about it, the more I think it should be Havocs personal niche to bring a Havoc DH for a group. Just like I think Feral should be the niche for 5% Melee crit buff (even though its not included in the current feral talent tree for DF, but I think it should)
  • Chaos Nova
AoE stun for tank that already has sigils for aoe CC? I think its a bit much. Keep Havoc only imo.
  • Blur
This fits Havoc better as your zipping around everywhere. With Vengeance you are not moving much until its time to pull more mobs. So using blue while tanking seems odd. Instead, this is my take for a “blurish” type of defensive.
    • Elusive Demon
When you consume a Soul Fragment, your dodge is increased by 5% per soul (max 5) for 3 sec. Each Soul has its own duration.
  • The 20 yard range on Disrupt
Did we have 20 range? damn I cant recall lol. If so then yup, I like Legion Demon Hunter, lets go back to something like that.

Havoc Tree

  • Revolving Blades
Yup I can see this. I included in my own DH Talent tree mock up.
  • Chaos Theory
I have similar abilities in my talent tree mock up. But I also want to get back our Chaos Blades DPS cooldown as well.
  • The Hunt
    Sure I don’t mind
  • Eyes of Rage I would like
  • Critical Chaos
    Yup
  • Chaos Cleave
    I like my version…
    • Reverberating Chaos
When you critically strike with Chaos Strike, Targets in a cone in front of you (10 yards) take 5/10/15% of your Chaos Strike damage.
This effect is increased by 100% for 5 sec after consuming any soul fragment.

Vengeance Tree

  • The extended 10 yards of leap range from the original version of Abyssal Strike
    Yup, I agree
  • Vengeance Spec Identity - Demon Spikes and Souls
Yup, agree. But I also think Souls should be “optional” for Havoc as a game play mechanic as well. Currently soul interaction for Havoc is very bare bones imo.

I have a lot of shared / similar ideas as well. But I also added a lot more of my own.

I think if you look at the trees of previous talents of druids and dks, they both share a few things so i’m thinking that sigils most likely will be part of our arsenal. As long as we can use them instantly, it will b nice if its a 2 second wait for them to proc, bleh

Sigils, Darkness, Chaos Nova, Vengeful Retreat should all be class wide.

As it stands Havoc and Vengeance are closer to separate micro classes than specs of the same class

Yes Druid and Death Knight have a lot of shared abilities. But that’s also because that’s how they have been in the past… lots of shared similar or exact same abilities .

Now Look at the mess the Priest is in.

The priest has 2 healing specs and 1 dps spec. The DPS spec uses an almost entirely different type of abilities and playstyle. All about leeching and dots.

Holy And Disc are about healing and the damage abilities they do use, are not anything closely related to the Shadow Priest. Even the shared Mind Blast, Shadow Word: Pain and Shadow Word: Death do little to anything in the Class tree as Disc and Holy very rarely use those abilities.

My Main before Legion was my Priest, I hope I can finally return to it if they finally let me not have to play with Voidform and still not suck.

But I can tell you this, in all of the Priests history up before the Voidform redesign, we shared many similar abilities with Holy and Disc and all those abilities actually were used and were useful across all 3 specs. Heck even Power Word: Shield is basically worthless for all 3 specs now. Blizzard has made each spec so radically different from the other that they each have their own unique set of abilities and toolkit that leaves little cross connection to the other specs.

What I am getting at is when you see how they did the Priest talents and understand why the Class tree looks the way it does, it gives a preview of what to expect for the Demon Hunter Class tree as Vengeance and Havoc have very different toolkits and play very differently.

With a Death Knight, all 3 specs are very closely related and share similar toolkits. Same with Druid having access to all the core toolkits. Priests is different and Demon Hunters is different,
