I’d like that, but as it stands the damage is pretty extensive and not all noticed to the severity it should’ve while I was in the service. Still if cybernetic replacements ever get off the ground. Sign me up.

As a Medic I fully expect to get told to go out and help local EMT. I have no issues with it as that is what I am trained to do and hope people understand if that the military gets spun up to help most of the people they will be interacting with will most likely are going to be medical personnel considering this is a pandemic and not some sort of civil unrest.
Not saying infantry and such won’t be there, but will mostly be out and about for our protection. But know that we are not there to try and force something onto the public and are just there to help things get back to normal.

Saw some people from the UK with unusual but advanced prosthetics with great mobility,
It’s the funding and costs that makes it awful,

I have seen some pretty advanced ones but im holding out for some Deus EX lvl cybernetics. As soon as thats out ill push to get my knee replaced because this thing has exceeded its expected mileage.

That’s different than putting armored battalions riding around and patrolling. They do the same thing when hurricanes or natural disasters hit. Which is humanitarian aid, and not martial law like what’s being implied.
They are serving a support roll. Not driving tanks around town. People really need to chill.
Wouldnt blame people for thinking the worst in this scenario. The media’s caused all this fearmongering on top of the administration’s incompetence knowing how alarmist people are,no sane person wants this country to turn into a fascist police state. Dunno about you,I prefer to keep what freedoms I have left then have some dystopian sci fi novel come to life because of news stations trying to make profits from a crappy situation egging on the panic for views and clicks.

I’m actually AD in Afghanistan right now haha! Yeah there is no self quarantine so it’s caused a lot of ruckus. Mission must go on, so they’re trying to control social interaction to prevent everyone getting sick and leaving us lacking working personnel.

I saw your post in another thread about not being able to work - and I wanted to ask this there (but it’s locked).
I ask this out of curiosity, and I can see it being taken the wrong way, but you said you’re disabled and unable to work. I’m curious, though, if you’re able to play WoW isn’t there some sort of online work you can do? You clearly seem to be of clear mind, and you have the time and ability to play a video game. I’m curious if there’s not some sort of online thing they have, or what the deal is.
Again - I can see it being taken wrongly; but I’m asking out of curiosity. I don’t mean it in a negative way at all.

No offense taken. There’s not much for online work here, and I 80% disabled so I am given a monthly income due to the injuries I sustained in the military. I would enjoy being able to do some online things for extra income, but my situation doesn’t permit it currently.

National Guard can help out some but the normal active military is pretty limited on what they can do because of various laws. It’s like when they got sent to the Mexican border, they mostly just stood around and did nothing.
Can’t each state declare martial law? or is that a federal thing? If the states do that, then I would guess the national guard can do whatever they need to.
That’s federal.
