Winter Veil Date Changed

Just like Hallow’s End Blizzard seems to not care about holidays any more and just keeps pushing them back past the actual holiday it is based on. Christmas in January sounds so much fun…how do you all feel about the changes?

But it’s still happening, right? Yes.

Wowhead article for 2023 - Dec 19 - Jan 5

Maintenance is happening so I cannot see the in game calendar for 2024 dates.

It’s an in game “holiday”.

Doesn’t really bother me any.

I’m more interested in seeing the Winter Veil updates they mentioned.

Hallow’s End happened entirely around the typical Halloween holiday. What are you going on about?

“WINTER” Veil
Not “CHRISTMAS” veil

Winter doesn’t officially start until Dec 21st:

I hate it.

And Santa isn’t real either so whats your point? I rather have the holiday theme more in the month of the holiday it is based on.

I bet we’ll still be without a sleigh mount >:(

It normally runs over a date range that includes Christmas day. What’s changed?

Yes and Winter Veil would totally be a thing if Christmas never existed…troll…

I’m not sure actually now, so we’re equal, as you don’t have one either

Some celebrate Christmas in January so I don’t see why not.

Plenty of winter holidays around the same times before “christmas” was invented. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Go educate yourself lol

Work christmas party is slotted for February. /flex

Hallow’s End always started on 18 Oct every year and ended on 1 November. This year it was on or around the 25th and ran for the same number of days.

Yes, this year part of the Feast of Winter Veil will take place in January. Just like it did last year. And the year before IIRC. It starts 19 December and ends 5 January.

So like I said, it happened entirely around the Halloween holiday. It was not “pushed past” the related holiday, it encompassed it.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

It was/is called “Jul” and is celebrated by all stripes of Pagans around the world. You have your Julbøk ready? Jul starts on the 21st and ends around January the 6th. Best part? It’s all feasting and having a good time with friends and family. Gifts are not required.

Classic “Christmas” to my knowledge is about solemn reflection/worship and some meal with fish and bread. Go do that.
