Did something change? I just did LFR Smolderon and when he was down, one person won three items. Is that new? I’ve never seen that happen before.
It’s very rare but technically possible. With personal loot it was impossible (before trading) because they selected the next winner in the sequence from a pool without the already-counted winners, but winning multiple pieces is now possible.

nothing new. this even happen when peoples beloved personal loot was a thing to. group loot and personal loot are the same thing just 1 lets you see what your losing while the other doesnt and auto rolls
I disagree. No one ever got 3 items off the same boss in personal loot.

Very rare occurrence but entirely possible, similar to how all my rolls in LFR for this week have been below 25, it was really frustrating, especially when the tier token dropped for larodar.
RNG in this game has always been a fickle thing, it either blesses you, or horribly curses you.
Low rolls and three items being one by the same person are totally different. That is a staggering statistical likelihood.
After people complained about potential flaws or abuses of the group loot system, we were told that if two identical items dropped, a player could roll need on both of them. But if they won the first one, they couldn’t win the second.
This actually wasn’t implemented. We heard stories about one player winning multiple rolls of the same item. I don’t know if they changed this to make it work as we were told it would.
I’m assuming they went down the list and hit need on everything, you done got ninja looted in 2023.

This happened to me. I don’t recall the boss, but I saw someone roll on 3 cloth items and get 90+ on all of them.
First couple weeks of LFR, it would not be surprising for folks to roll Need on everything. They DO need everything. I rolled need on everything, those rolls just didn’t work for me.

Seen it a few times since DF launched. It’s nothing new.
Not new. It happens. It even happens in Normal/Heroic and Mythic raids. It also happened when loot drops were personal loot drops. People only care now because they are able to see themselves openly loose the roll.
It’s been a common experience from what I’ve witnessed. And the game loves to give me horrible rolls all the time.

Personally, I have seen plenty of people roll highest on duplicates of the same item and only get one. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get duplicates off of rolls from the same kill.
I’ve gotten items because of that. My favorite was LFR Experiments dropping 3 glaives with only one DH in the group, so now my monk is carrying around one of those glaives in her backpack.
If someone got duplicates from the same kill that either would mean everyone else passed on the item (not going to in any PUG/LFR group), or it’s a bug seeming as that is not what they intend to happen.
This does work as advertised. “Won” the rollsnfor 2 of the same gloves yesterday and only received one. Automatically went to the next roll. Now I’ve seen lots of peeps win multiple different items on the same boss, Once even three. 
They didn’t get duplicates. They won three separate items.
I know that is what you were talking about, but I was replying to Opalunaiya who spoke about people winning duplicates.
They must have fixed it. At the beginning of the expansion we heard several times of players winning rolls on multiple identical items. We were never told it was a bug or they were going to fix it.
is it hard getting ilvl 424 now because i can’t seem to reach it im only off by one ilvl and i need it to get a quest done from lfr sadly.
Ah, that might be, I don’t think I ever saw people getting the highest rolls on duplicates season 1, so that’s totally possible.
People say it’s rare but ive seen it a lot more this patch for some reason
