Windows 11 and WoW

I got the notification today that I can “upgrade” to Windows 11.

Has anyone done this yet, and if so was there any performance issues with WoW?

Windows 10 destroyed so many ‘dvd’ and ‘cd’ parts and computers, I read so many issues with it. They want you streaming, only access to what they can delete. If you have ‘physical’ access like books, CD’s DVD’s… they are yours. files can be deleted and disappeared. JMO. Just my opinion.
Ex: Amz “Kindle Fire” ‘reader’ … means the burning of books. JMO. Just my opinion.

Given that Microsoft is still not even close to alpha testing Windows 11. I wouldn’t go towards it yet. They just barely fixed AMD CPU issues and I’m sure there’s a ton more problems with it that isn’t being discussed.

They will try to force it on people. Just do a search on info on W11. Hopefully, like for W10 you will get work aaround for a while.

I am not very up on computers. I know mine is pretty good. But that’s about it.

I saw the thingy that said to upgrade to Windows 11. Yesterday. I figured - why not?

I have been playing WoW fine. No issues. But I don’t do much on it. Just play WoW. Which is the topic of the thread.

People with more computer knowledge might have waited to see how things play out. Or they might have issues with their drivers or different games or different add ons than I use or streaming equipment.

But I am a simple man. I see a thingy to click from my computer saying it needs an upgrade, I click yes.

Again - no issues with WoW so far.

Do not, under any circumstances, upgrade to windows 11 unless you want to deal with a whole host of new issues.

My PC updated to 11 while I was asleep. It’s been flawless so far, but my PC is not some cheap potato, so your results may vary.

The biggest reason you may want to avoid 11 right now is because Microsoft decided to push aesthetics over basic functionality. It’s currently not possible to ungroup same task on the taskbar. This may sound minor to some, but it’s really annoying to deal with if you’re not used to working with grouped task.

You have at least 11 months before they decide to remove the free upgrade, so feel free to block the update if you not ready.

Research W11 gratefully there are so many websites to help you manage the problem…

Upgraded last week and have had zero issues with Win 11, everything runs smoothly.

Haven’t used it yet the requirements means I need to build my computer again.

If you have AMD cpu windows 11 is messing with the performance a bit. An update recently came out to fix the problem but it didn’t fully fix it. Otherwise from what my brother told me who has had it since before it officially released it isn’t that much different in terms of an OS

A huge number of computers are not compatible with Windows 11 and never will be because of the new hardware requirements. It can run on those machines, but Microsoft has blocked it from doing so. My computer is one of them.

Windows 10 will be fully supported until 2025, so no need to rush.

Microsoft will be responsible for a mountain of e-waste in 2025, though.

LOL didn’t even entertain the possibility that it might be better then 10.

History will repeat itself - 98 was better then 95, 7 was better then Vista, (way better) and now 11 will be better then 10. I skipped some I’ve never used like ME, 2000, 8 etc…

Sounds good to me, I had a hard time just trying to stop MAJOR updates from W10… causing huge probs. I appreciate your info! I miss W7! I have a feeling they know that!

The agenda is … you get less control over your computer, they get more. You get none, they get all! That is my opinion!

Not now… the whole agenda has reversed. They delete more and more of our participation/control of our own product. Why, because these ‘corpse’ think they own everything.

Windows11 has been great on my laptop. I’m just upset the copy/paste function is wonky.

I constantly update addons manually and I cannot right click that function quickly anymore
