That is all.
As a aura would be nice. Stop the need to keep plastering it down just for a “Chance” to trigger another attack.
but i like when mobs aggro on to it temporarily instead of on to me
but yeah, that or take it off the gcd
i like being buffer man, the offensive support dps, that’s why i switched off hunter in the first place way back in the day. that’s mostly gone now (and it never really worked that well, but that’s a story for a different time), but windfury’s still cool.
i think too many gcds go in to replacing it during pvp or like any fight with movement though
either an aura or off-gcd relocation
oh and make it raid wide, not just your party.
Taking it off the gcd would be great. It honestly should be already given their stance on off gcd abilities. It does nothing when you press it.
Having to waste your first gcd every fight on windfury totem is going to suck.
Imagine how frustrating it would be for other classes, having to drop a utility buff every pack pull. Beyond absurd, even in classic it wasn’t this bad. This is a 2 min buff…
Make it a aura and give it to the enhancement, then make a flametongue aura buff for elemental that affects spells.
I realize this is most likely going to put me in the minority, but I’m actually quite fine with it the way it is. I feel that Windfury Totem as it’s currently designed offers a bunch of interesting, strategic decisions that would be eliminated if it were to be simply replaced with an aura. For example, whether it’s worth dropping Windfury Totem for a few mobs on the run, or where to specifically place it so the whole party you’re in receives its buff. Plus, the thematic design of having to drop a totem (instead of just having a standardized aura) really fits the class design - something I felt was missing in a major way throughout Legion and BFA. All these features add up, in my opinion, to something that makes what could just be a normal buff into something that helps make the spec feel even more unique than it already is.
All that said, I wouldn’t be strongly opposed to switching it to an aura or the like if the majority of the playerbase would prefer it that way. I do want what’s best for everyone, not just myself. But I’m just offering what I feel about it, that I like it the way it is.
Stormlash totem was a better “group buff” totem.
The problem is there is no CD on it so playing “strategically” doesn’t even matter.
I’m talking about whether it’s worth the GCD and when exactly you can fit it perfectly into your rotation without setting yourself behind. Little challenges like that (similar to Searing Totem pre-Legion) that I personally find enjoyable, but others might not.
Imagine if the game had more buffs like bloodlust but only those in your group got it. (not raid-wide) Like if PW:Fortitude was a group defensive cd like a superpowered desperate prayer.
Make buffs matter but add limits.
In vanilla it wasn’t on the GCD . Someone made a addon that would drop 4 totems at once. So just taking it off GCD would be ok
I would settle for a talent or something for totem pocket or totem back pack where it pops up in our pocket as we run around and helps in a aura around us.
I think you may be misremembering. All totems were on the GCD and had to be dropped individually.
Call of the Elements, Call of the Spirits, and Call of the Ancestors, all added in WotLK, were oGCD and allowed the Shaman to drop 4 totems simultaneously.
Just play a Paladin if you want auras.
respectable idea kernel
one less constant GCD would be awesome
edit - it also fixes the issue of the current model, where we actually need the totem
I complete agree that it needs to be an aura. It feels like Enhancement shaman already have enough ramp up time as is, and to have the extra GCD for Windfury totem seems silly. Blizzard - please change this for all of us.
“duuuurrr… G PLaY pAlAdIN”
I wouldn’t mind it if they made it OGCD but I like the class identity.
I always wished that it was like Dungeon set 1, where you had 4 totems on your back and they lit up when active. Or like Tauren where you had a giant totem you beat people with and each section (Top eagle / air - Middle top Bear / earth - Middle bottom Dragon / fire - bottom Turtle / Fish would be water) so your wepon / armor would be your totems. The new heirloom sets for Tauren and Highmountain are literally perfect for this. Maybe at the laziest turn lightning shield swirl ball into the 4 elements for each buff you have up. Then you can pick which buff you have like pulsing fire AE or DD, WF and etc.
I mean, is he wrong? The single totem you have to place is not some insane disruption to enh’s playstyle.
Off-GCD would be nice but this (arguably non-) issue is way down the list of things enhance could use right now.
