I know this has been talked to death but since it hasn’t been fixed lets say it again.
WINDFURY IS A BUGGY MESS! did you just hearth somewhere? better check if windfury bugged, did you enter a dungeon or raid? i sure hope windfury didn’t bug out. PvP, raids, dungeons, world content and every single time you move from one location to another can and in my case WILL bug windfury. It’s insane how many times i’ve had to try and fix this bug from my end! take weapon off, reapply windfury, did it work? no! lets try just reapplying, maybe switching my main hand with off hand? there we go! now to switch them back, hope it works!
I get they wanted to bring the old abilities back with the weapon imbues and im not actually against that, however… if you can’t fix this bug please just make it a passive so the players don’t lose their minds while trying to play the spec. It’s been months, I forgot to check windfury on my guilds first heroic sludefist kill so i contributed almost nothing to it. Thanks for that! I did a few dailies in the maw, every time I moved to a new location windfury broke. Every. Single. Time. Blizz, Im so tired of being tired of this. Please just acknowledge or say anything on this issue.
I thought if you just re-applied WF to weapon it worked?! Are you telling me I have to remove weapon to do it? Also, how can I tell if it is “bugged” or working?
sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn’t. The best way to check is to have a damage meter add on, pull some mobs - pop doom winds and see what the damage break down is. when it’s bugged I pull about 3k-3.5k dps. when it’s not bugged I pull from 9k-10k
I’ve literally never had a single problem with just reapplying it. I have a sequence macro, and whenever I enter torghast, a dungeon, a raid, an arena, a battleground etc… even the maw, I hit just the macro twice, and i’m done.
Doesn’t matter if it’s at 1m or 59m remaining, it ALWAYS works.
You do not have to unequip your weapon, switch their spots, wait for it to time out or any of that nonsense, just reapply it, make it muscle memory.
Setup a weak aura that pops up whenever you enter an instance to tell you to imbue your weapons, and another to tell you when you don’t have an imbue if you’re really finding this hard to handle.
Thanks for the sarcasm, im glad this isn’t a problem for you but my experience has been very different. I refresh endlessly, sometimes it works, often it doesn’t. Weak auras are useless if the ability they remind you about doesn’t work
Like said above I have no issues with just reapplying wf and flame tongue. Sorry you are having worse issues.
It’s not a very big problem to re-apply it on every dungeon or raid… but i’m having a hard time on arenas… I’ve set a massive weak aura to trigger on Arena Preparation buff, but you just get used to it and eventually I still forget and lose rating because of that… it’s pretty damn sad…
did we ever get any feedback from blizz on that at all?
Nope, we haven’t had a blue post in the Shaman community for well over a year. There’s apparently not enough of them to care.
This is why rather than fixing the double-windfury bug, they broke our imbues instead. I get that their code might make it difficult to fix these kinds of things the way they’re currently setup, but they can easily fix it by changing it from a weapon imbue to a non-dispellable buff.
Once both are applied, your main-hand weapon attacks can trigger windfury, and all your attacks can trigger flametongue. You can only have 1 of each buff, they don’t need to disable anything or worry about switching weapons/hands etc… But they seem reluctant to actually spend any time fixing our issues.
The only ones that do fix, tend to nerf us. For instance MSW being able to empower our Stormkeeper CL casts… with that “fix” stormkeeper is even worse now than before it was buffed. Don’t expect them to make any changes here, just figure out how to handle it.
And yes, I do also sometimes forget to reapply and don’t notice because I have the buff… It’s extremely annoying noticing that you have done 0 WF or FT damage, but reapplying the imbues DOES work, every single time.
