Wind shear?

ok so why is it that i have to spend talent points on wind shear, this is just plain stupid a silence effect that was base line should not require a freaking talent point smfh.

… or you can just talent in it when you need it, or use something else when not.

How is that a problem?

because interrupts should not be a talent you have to use a talent point on, do you know how that comes across, that they lack the ability to think of a skill that is unique enough for the talent tree, that they just throw wind shear in it.

Again problem how? You need it; pop it in. You don’t? Don’t.

You have one of the best tree with utility choices on top of it. I can’t talent out of Sap as I must path through it, do I want sap all the time? Absolutely not.

I wish I had a choice, interrupt included. Flexible point for stuff you don’t always need are awesome.

you are missing the point no class should have to talent an interrupt, warriors get pummel base line.

Because now you have the option of forgo certain utility skills in order to get other things. The alternative to it would be to have wind shear baked into the class, and no option to trade it for something else.

Like it was?

Maybe it wasn’t always a thing for a shaman to have a baseline interrupt? Seems a silly thing to have to spend a talent point for though.

Ok so you seem to be under the assumption that having a skill be baseline instead of a talent is somehow a good thing, and yes, if we simply remove it as a talent and make it a basic skill, without any side effects it would indeed result in an extra talent point.

What you don’t seem to realise is that this is a video game where the classes and specs are balanced between eachother, and you can’t just give an extra talent point to a class without either taking something else away or giving the point to every other class as well.

If you are arguing that the classes are not balanced and shaman is behind everyone else and needs to be buffed, than that might be a possible way to buff it, however you would need to establish that this is the case.

The fact that warriors have interrupts baked in is also not a good justification because we are not balancing classes around specific skills, we balance them around the entire kit, otherwise we would need to increase the cd and reduce the range of wind shear, which is by far the best interrupt in the game.

This argument is absolutely inane. Wind Shear is one of the first talents in the tree, costs a single point, and is practically unavoidable unless you’re going out of your way to do so. The devs absolutely expect us to have Wind Shear at all times.

Abilities like Wind Shear are not in the talent trees because they create interesting decision points, they’re in there because the only way the devs could come up with enough buttons to fill out talent trees without resorting to even more “+5%” talents was to gut base classes and pretend that buying back all of our baseline functionality is just as mEAniNGfUl a choice as Covenants totally were.

Yes, that is correct, it is a necessary step to improve the talent trees.

They’re in the tree because the new tree isnt just a traditional talent system, but rather a whole way of gaining abilities while leveling. Who needs an interrupt in non group content? Or are we going to pretend group content is the only way to play the game? The fact that some of you are still this clueless is…well it’s something

When dont you need it? when are you doing content that you absolutely do not need a windshear?

okay you are nuts.

Yeah, wild concept I know. Not needing an interrupt when there is nothing to interrupt.

But there is somethinh. If youre just gonna leave it to the melee or w/e to deal with then lol but wow. Lmfao.

I never, ever said to just leave it to the melee. I said; if its not needed, then its not needed. Its not rocket science.

But its needed

Would people prefer it be another stat modifier? Or should it be another ability? Then what about capacitor totem, shouldn’t it be baseline too and have an ability in it’s place? If it shouldn’t be done for capacitor, then why not, shouldn’t cc be baseline too if interrupts should be baseline?

You see how ability bloat would get out of hand instantly if this were the case for all old baseline spells.

Tell me when on Skolex it is needed. Please I humbly beg of you to tell me. Enlighten me with your masterful insight. If that is not a good enough example I can list others, its no problem at all!

Poor priest healers with their interruptless specs too amirite
