Win 7 users, can you log in?

Yea I know. I just made an assumption. Jumped to the conclusion that it was another person claiming to be that. It was because an IT guy could work on OS and some do not. Computer programmers would know their way around OSs as well. I like Windows 7 for what it does. There are certain things it does better than current Windows. It has been rated as best for gaming over even Windows 10. As many of the older games cannot play well on the good graphics that we have now. It was most widely used in the world for the longest time and held world records for that.

Windows 11 will become obsolete in much shorter time than it took Windows 7 to.
Its a money thing. They dont make much money off you if you buy a new system once a decade. They are aiming for one a year and are getting close to it now. Greed for money will drive the market. Win 11 doesnt support a lot of older things that it actually is capable of supporting. It is a greedy system. Made by greed for the greedy.

Gotta install updated vc redist with this all in one package.
Search for “vc redist all in one”

Here’s the proof that is actually is better.

(4302) Windows 11 Must Be Stopped - A Veteran PC Repair Shop Owner’s Dire Warning - Jody Bruchon - YouTube

Just cuz it’s newer, doesn’t mean it’s better. And how often they ask you to update.

windows 10 here and can’t login neither!

Random dude making YouTube video doesn’t prove anything, nor does any of the things he talks about in the video.

I also didn’t say anything about it being more secure because it’s newer. It’s more secure because it is still being supported by security updates. That means that exploits that are found for Windows 7 will never be patched (and there are already a ton of them in the wild) where as exploits discovered on operating systems that are still receiving security updates will be patched or are at least more likely to be. It’s because they are being actively supported, not because they are newer.

Windows 10 and 11 are garbage operating systems, but using windows 7 is an ill-advised security risk, and claiming it is more secure is just plain false information.

Computer programmers know how to keep their computers secure.

could you elaborate on what point you are trying to make here?

Isn’t Windows 7 like two years past it’s end of life cycle by Microsoft.

exactly, and this guy is telling people on the forums that it’s more secure than something that isn’t EOL

SMH

There abouts yes

Why are you all so paranoid that someone is going to hack you? A hacker wants in, your OS isnt going to stop them, no matter what you got.

Windows 7 has much more app compatibility. And handle better. You obviously did not watch the video. What I am saying is right and anyone who is a programmer would know it to be right. But you are not one. Even the IT guy. Who jumped in when this is something a programmer would know better. Ever met a programmer who did not know how to install an OS and did not know the strengths and weaknesses of every single one? A computer programmer would know that stuff and can make a good assessment on the topic.

I am saying Windows 7 is much better.

Win 7 has lasted longer in the market AND Windows 7 can play a much wider variety of games than the newer Windows can.
Ever heard of too advanced? You apparently haven’t because that is exactly what Windows 11 is for many things. I said it is better. And it is.

It lasted longer than Windows 11 will. It functioned better at what it did when it did it, it is therefore better. It is a better product. That is a fact. A well known one too.

You update when you want. Updates are never forced on you. Your data is YOUR data. They cannot look at your keys. With Windows 11,not only can they look at them, they OWN them.

0 adds on start menu. No constant spam to use the cloud and never pressuring you to upload to it even if you have it with Win 7. It lasted for well over a decade.

Do you think Windows 11 will last dace? No. It wont. They are already talking on how to make it obsolete and FORCE you to upgrade out of it and will deactivate many of its features. 0 adds for Microsoft games are on Windows 7.

It has been ranked as number 1. So when it say it is better that is a fact. Windows 11 will be out and forgotten.

If something
Lasted longer
Preformed better during its entire life span
Was not successfully replaced by Windows 8,
by Windows8.1,
by first version of Windows 10,
by the second version,
by the third version,
by the 4th version.
by the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th version.

It has just now, recently been replaced and is therefore better. Took a decade and almost 2 dozen OS versions later to finally get replaced.

Windows 10 final version that finally replaced it has already been replaced

It is best. It lasted longest for doing what it did.

It’s literally my job.

That’s not a reason to not practice the simplest level of computer security you can, using an operating system that isn’t EOL. If a burgler wanted to break into your house, they’d just smash a window and climb in but that isn’t a good reason to leave your front door unlocked.

True but irrelevant to the discussion of security.

if what you are saying is “Windows 7 is more secure than Windows 10 or 11” which is what I was responding to, then you are wrong, and being a programmer doesn’t make you any less wrong, it just makes it sadder.

None of this is remotely relevant to the conversation about the security of the operating system.

Privacy is a huge concern to me, and Windows is a total dumpster fire when it comes to privacy, but Microsoft isn’t going to steal your credit card info or ransomware your family photos or buy a house with a fraudulent mortgage in your name. Using an EOL operating system exposes a user to a greater risk of system compromise than an operating system that is still receiving security updates. These compromises happen everyday and people have their identity stolen and it throws their lives into financial chaos, and you are putting other people at risk to that by spreading your misinformation.

To anyone else reading this, DO NOT use and EOL operating system on an internet connected device if you don’t know what you’re doing.

No. I am saying that it is better. It did its job better when it was time to do so.

Just like a Nintendo 64 will always last longer than the original Xbox did. Red ring of death was what that was. Newer does not always mean better. Windows 7 is not better now, but it is better overall.

It does what it was meant to do so well, that they were unable to replace it after 2 dozen failed attempts. Windows 11 already has a replacement planned. Win was the best. It still does what it was designed to do perfectly.

Yea I agree with you there :100:

I was only talking about it from the security perspective in using it today.

For me, it’s hit and miss since maintenance last night. I could get in normally, then I’d have to add the legacy DX switch to the command line. It would work for a bit, and then I could remove it and get it normally.

Now, I have to add the legacy switch back in.

There are hardware level backdoors on every AMD and Intel based computer since the late 2000s. Courtesy of western governments refusing to respect privacy in general. Anyone is is serious about privacy isn’t using a computer.

Actually it was significantly out preformed by windows 8 and the tickless scheduler. But people didn’t use windows 8 because OMG mobile! But yeah the windows 8 kernel was actually much faster.

You sure about that? Because right now Windows 10 is the majority install by a large margin and has been for quite awhile.

OK
I’m not a lawyer but LOL, NO. If MS did what you’re alleging they’d literally be getting prosecuted for it in the EU and the US and everywhere else. The EU would absolutely destroy them on GDPR, and they’ve been looking for any excuse to do that for awhile now.

Please stop with the FUD:

Doesn’t mean I have to make it easy?

Old but still accurate run down of why hacking PC’s even non-targeted is worth a lot of money.

Umm
No it doesn’t it’s in fact missing critical APIs developers are now commonly using. Hence this entire thread.

These people apparently. The “slow” crowd.

There is no good reason to use windows 7, its not updated or supported by MS anymore. Just update to 11 or 10 if your PC is too old to run 11.

I have a better question for people still using Win 7
WHY?
