Will your gameplay style change in Dragonflight?

I usually try to get to the endgame content quite quickly (started playing in shadowlands and always enjoyed raiding/obtaining better gear).

However I’m leaning towards enjoying reading the quests, levelling a variety of professions, and just taking my time appreciating the zones when the next expansion drops.

Do you think you’ll end up adjusting how you play the game in the future?

Na I just play to relax and socialize and will keep doing that. I’m hoping DF will have some nice spots to AFK in :3

Not me. I don’t have much game time (about an hour a night), so I’ll just leisurely progress through the zones and story. Hopefully there is a lot to collect to keep me busy.

After playing a bit of Beta with the new race/class I am most likely going to do what the pandarens do and slow down meaning normally I zipthrough everything as fast as I can to max level but this time want to take my time and enjoy the dragon zones and take time leveling my dragon.

Going for max level, raiding and doing M+ is not going to change for me, but how I tank and DPS will change with the new talent trees. Simple things like being able to sunfire outside of moonkin form and jump into bear form, coupled with throwing up more moonfire that self heals, yeh it’s certainly going to change how I am going to tank and make it feel new so that’s going to help.

It will be the same for many players, new setups, new ways to play, new rotations to have, it will bring some life back into the game even for players who primarily do end game content.

Not really. I’ve always read through the quests. And the one thing SL did that I’m thankful for is making Campaign quests show differently than normal quests. This at least lets you know what moves the story vs just doing some stuff for extra XP.

How the specs I play will change.

But no, my overall plans for my playstyle remain the same. Don’t fix what isn’t broke and whatnot.

Nope, will roll in on my Druid main to get started. Then my profession toons will follow. I just hope there’s not a 47.75 minute unavoidable intro slog…

Nope. I’m sure I’ll still push as hard as I can at launch, get burnt out, and then slack off for the rest of the season…only to restart the cycle for the next season.

None that I can think of. Outside of maybe RP walking more as I’m going through new zones

Heck no  there’s no benefit in that for me. I’m going to blitz to 70, complete as much story as Blizz has allowed me to do then I’m going to start sending alts up the pipeline.

I’m not going to read any quests
I’m not going to ooo and aaa the environment
My sound will be off
I’m skipping cinematics

My usual style is soaking it in. After playing the beta already I’m probably going to YOLO rush to end-game. Especially since there’s a lot of end-game stuff I want to experience prior to the M+ season starting… like the Dragon Racing content. People keep going on and on about dragon riding, and then the haters say “It just lets you travel from point A to point B”… but the haters didn’t realize that Dragon Races were a thing and they’re quite fun to learn to master. Going for gold on the races is fun and getting gold medals on every single race will definitely be a challenge I want to complete.

I think the leveling in DF is boring, but as far as the collection of Dragon Glyphs and mastering the races… WoW feels like an actual video game now. No timegating, no mandatory conduit grinding… just doing fun content for fun because its fun. And that’s super awesome. Maybe you only do Dragon Glyphs + Dragon Racing for several weeks, but that’s long enough because M+ season will start after several weeks and then you’ll be playing that.

I’m kinda done with raiding now… LFR will likely be my new home and I’ll just play world content. I’ll go back to raiding when Ion is gone.

maybe…IF players can stop being so obnoxious, even when youre SUPPOSED to be on the same team, Id like to start running dungeons again more frequently.
If not, then no…I’ll be staying to my 99% solo game that I have been.

I am comitted to do all the quests and clear the board this time around… im using immersion, which is great its funny…all the unlocked diaglog the npc tell you …im praying dragonflight has a coherent and complete storyline that makes sense this time…so Im going to take my time and ahve fun in a nice slow pace.

I mostly just PvP and RP so I’m hoping I can still do those things. I haven’t heard a lot about PvP from the beta but I hope that we don’t have to upgrade gear again.

I think this topic brings up my main frustration with this game. They have locked the three seasons together, pvp, dungeons and raiding, so it forces raiding to begin two weeks after the expansion drops.

So: to be “raid ready” we have to blaze through leveling and pour time into preparation (if you choose, but things like health pots or food: the little bits that make raiding fun).

I don’t like it! I’d like to explore and read quests and goof off and announce in raid chat a fun find, maybe a toy in a shed or cave.

Now, my fellow raiders say, “This isn’t a problem for me, why is it a problem for you?”. But, for me, I’d like a much longer grace period before committing to raiding but those seasons are locked together.

I plan on doing my usual play for the first few months, complain about how awful the expansion is, unsub till around the end, come back and get some gear to get ready for the sequence all over again.

Uhh…

It’s the reverse. Dungeons and PvP are locked to when raiding opens, with is two weeks after the expansion launches. Even before “seasons” proper Blizzard gated the raid in this way to give players enough time to level but without having to go long periods being completely bored.

By the way, in about 6 weeks, we’re about to have a 7-week stretch with no active seasonal content. That’s a long time for your game to not exist if you are a “seasonal gamer” type.

Also, two weeks is not “blazing through leveling”. You can do almost all of the leveling in one degen type day with questing, and once bonus XP is enabled for dungeons like it exists on Retail when you complete a dungeon, you will almost certainly be able to degen dungeon grind to cap in a single day. This idea of not having time to goof off is crazy.

You will have 13 days to goof off after you one day of leveling.

Since I’ll be playing a Dracthyr and they are new? I’d assume my playstyle would change yes.
