Honestly I would hope so but I don’t expect it
No. You can play both factions with one account. However, if you play on a PVP or RP-PVP server you can only choose one faction.
KreyGasm !
You can play both factions on one account.
You can only roll one faction in pvp servers. For whatever reason.
this is what I was hoping for
The reason was to discourage cross-faction communication and collusion. It is Warcraft after all and not Makefriendswithtaurensonyourgnomecraft.
In vanilla, PvP servers were faction locked. That may or may not be the case in Classic.
Blizzard has yet to comment on this topic.
It would be a shame if you were allowed to play both factions on a PvP server. Look at what happens on pservers with their devilsaur mafia.
That happens with or without cross faction character creation.

I did miss the part of having enemies on the opposite factions. Then enemies became friends. Plus, I love the exclusive pally and sham to their own factions availability.
Yeah but it makes less sense when you can’t have both of the same faction. If you can have a horde and an ally on the same server then you can get benefit from the profits on one of your characters, if you straight up just can’t make a horde when you’re ally then there is no point in making an alliance with the other side, you make more money by killing them off.
It’ll be interesting to see if the proscription against characters on both sides sticks on pvp servers since they’re forcing battle net integration which will allow cross faction communication in a much easier way.
You can get around this restriction by opening another account. So it’s not fool proof.
1 account worth of charcters does not make a mafia.
That would require collusion of many players.
Why do you assume I was talking about only one of them? Most of these people had characters on both side of the fence which is why it made it easier and made more sense for them to do this.
If you and your friends literally make 0 profit from colluding with the opposite faction creating this monopoly then why would you go out of your way to communicate with them? It would be easier to get them out of the equation.
Gold farmers sell to both sides. AKA the purpose of that mafia. More demand and profit on one side, that side gets the loot.
Cross faction character creation limits does not prevent this.
no. only pvp servers. which will still be faction locked in classic.
The mafia was not gold farmers (sellers), it seems you don’t even know the facts behind this at all. These were guilds just making money.
It’s best to not comment on something you have limited information about.
Hopefully the new battlenet integration doesn’t ruin that, because discouraging cross faction communication is vital in having factions.
