Like many expansion features, things come and go. Will you miss The Creation Catalyst?
Yeah big time, I really noticed how awesome it is on Alts. Trading in pieces and getting that 4 set quick. Being able to have upgradable tier with valor by trading in mythic plus pieces, really great. Trading in off pieces to get better more desirable stats is also a great feature.
This brings back memories of Reforging, something I truly miss.
Will you miss The Catalyst Creation? What other expansion features do you or will you miss?

I won’t miss creation catalyst as an arms warrior because my tier set is kinda meh.
But assuming tier continues to only come from raiding primarily and the other avenues of content don’t get their own set bonuses then yeah it’ll probably feel a little bad next expansion.
Although it’s possible that the creation catalyst is a … catalyst for a similar system in Dragonflight.

I am sure they will have something similar in DF so no.

They’ve already talked about making changes to it for DF in an invterview, even though there doesn’t really need to be any.
We already know they do. There is a BoP currency that can be used to upgrade gear into tier. You will put your item and mats in the AH and someone with the recipe can fulfill your work order.

I mean not really. I finally got into 9.2 and after all the grinding and getting ready to raid I’m just over it.

honestly the creation catalyst should be a permanent feature of the game, as long as we have tier, and it should be open to all from the beginning
the week the raid opens, or the week after, make the creation catalyst available. none of this four weeks later stupidity.

Nah. Since Flux wasn’t tradeable, I couldn’t use it. Sure wasn’t grinding ZM or raid with alts, so mains had 30k+ flux and alts couldn’t use it. Mains raided and didn’t need it.
The creation catalyst was great. I really hope they bring it back but as others have said, I don’t see how it is beneficial to both delay it until months after raid release and do the weekly time gate at the same time.

Blizzard has already announced that the “Badge Vendor” is time-gated. There’s a high likelihood that Blizzard time-gates the new version of the CC. And if they time-gate CC, it also means that they can push back when the time-gate starts unlocking. I really, really don’t like the vibes I’m feeling but time will tell. I’m hoping they don’t screw over M+ players again.

Will definitely miss the creation catalyst. Also will miss Torghast as a play ground for new powers, talents, and abilities.
I personaly like it, just not 100% its current implication, it provides the character with nice agnecy just it should have opened up 1 to 2 weeks sooner at wost imo, but in the current gearing format its really nice being able to pick which things to progress your chacter further and not be at the mercy of rng gods so much ( example of painsmith swords in 9.1) it also allowed so limitied ability to “reforge” some gear slots to " optimal" gear stats if needed,
They sure like to do that don’t they. Make changes to something that doesn’t necessarily need them, and end up making it worse.

Yeah… not looking forward to it being tied to crafting, tbh. >_< I love how it is right now.

Hot take probably but I preferred wow without sets that defined how you played a class or you just played it wrong. Some specs are fine in that their set just enhances a part of their gameplay and doesn’t overtly favor one playstyle over the other. Then you get stuff like survivals set bonus that makes bomb centric builds required. I heckin liked going into bgs stacking mastery / vers and clapping cheeks with chakram and thicc raptor strikes / mongoose bites tyvm.

Blame Asmongold and Bellular unfortunately. They say that the only variety this game needs is tier sets that dictate your build from tier to tier… and enough people aped their views that Blizzard caved, as cringe as it is.
I’m hoping going forward that wow has something somewhat akin to diablo 3 sets where at least you can choose what set you want to focus on and can somewhat customize within that to a certain extent. The way sets work in that game has really spoiled my view on how sets work in this game because its basically just a worse version of d3s sets as even though d3 sets still fall victim to power creep, at least most playstyles are viable and supported until you reach gr 120 or so whereas in wow you’d just be an idiot to not play to your sets strengths as there’s no significant upside to it aside from crazy cases where a fight somehow makes a set bonus practically worthless.
The CC or a similar system is fine.
Here is to hoping tier is 5-10% bonuses instead of 50% (or 0% if you are havoc).
