I don’t think it’s anywhere near confirmed, but also no - I already have a Night Elf Demon Hunter. If I wanted another, I would make it Horde…and it would be kind of boring to make it Nightborne and end up looking the same as the one I already have.
I have one at 70. DH is possibly the most boring class to play though. New spec would really need to shake things up for me to take another look at it.
Also, “all but confirmed” is just another way of saying “not confirmed.”
I wouldn’t go so far as to presume that just because there’s a demon hunter boss with bespoke void-themed abilities, we’re going to get a full spec for our own demon hunter class.
In the new patch theres a questline involving both the Void Elves and DHs being in talk of one another to share their ways, with VE learning the ways of the Illidari and the DH learning to control the Void.
I never played Demon Hunter at all until Mists of Pandaria Remix. I got one to 70 and had a blast with it just plowing through Pandaria. It was one of my favorite alts.
I recently decided to get it to 80…and it’s just…boring? Without Remix invincibility, I have not enjoyed playing it much. Hopefully I find something to like so the rest of my journey to 80 isn’t terrible.
Oh, is that so? Dang, that definitely goes a lot further towards laying the groundwork for a 3rd DH spec in the future. I haven’t really been following 11.2 stuff outside of Blizz posts, so I was only aware of the bosses in the raid.
There’s also a whole new faction of Paladins that has a Kul Tiran member.
And we fought a bunch of Night Elf Shaman in Dragonflight.
And there’s a Blood Elf Druid boss in The Burning Crusade.
I’m not saying it won’t happen. Blizzard could totally be setting up all of these ideas to tease future updates. I’ve just already been let down enough times and won’t get hyped over this one quest and raid boss.
Probably not if it’s just another flavor of melee DPS or tank…the thing the game ABSOLUTELY needs no more of (and quite arguably less players playing as).
